Songwriters, would you rather have perfect lyrics with an average melody or a beautiful melody with simple lyrics?

I've been thinking about how different elements work together to make a song memorable.

Sometimes simple words become powerful because of the melody and delivery. Other times, a clever lyric is what makes a song unforgettable.

If you were developing a song, which would you prioritize first, and why?

I'm interested in hearing different creative approaches.
