What if I get 2000 subs through shorts and once I achieve that, I completely shift my focus on start on getting watch hours through long form videos

I feel like the content I actually wanna pursue will not give me a loyal fanbase. Just some views here and there. So to get subscribers, what if I make completely different content on shorts and then once I receive 2000 subs. I pursue smth completely different (the niche) and make long form videos for watch hours and potentially delete my shorts to stay on theme

My end goal is just monetization, idc about how successful of a YouTuber I become. I want my channel to become a passive source of income

Is that a bad idea? I have a feeling it is-

I am in health science, and I need all of my required courses to remain in the 60s in order to progress to year 2. I failed to get a grade above 60 in biology. It was none other than my fault, but I really want to stay in health science in my second year. Please tell me if there is a way. I don't know if retaking the course will let me remain in health science in my second year. I really don't want to be undeclared.
