Birth rates in Latam are below replacement, what should we do?

Extinction seems hawt.

I've been to the same psych ward twice in Montevideo, the first for two weeks and the other one for a month.

The place had rooms for two people, there was a sort of patio (don't know how to say this in english) where everyone would spend the day.

The activities to do were few, you could play cards, dominos or ask the staff for stuff to exercise with.

Meals were pretty shitty except when a person would be on their last day, where we would eat lasagna.

I've only seen violence once, where a partner tried to escape jumping a fence and the staff had to tackle him down and inject some sort of tranquilizer.

The last time was a few months ago and now I'm stable, hope I never have to go back there or any other psychiatric institution.

Physical media can include things such as DVDs, CDs, cassettes, books, vinyl and so on.

Personally I own some CDs, Dookie by Green Day, the first two albums by No Te Va Gustar, two cassettes, one by a crossover thrash band from Brazil called Surra and one by a local band called Obelisco and two vinyl, Chaos is Me by Orchid and Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix.

The 1970s was a hard time for Latin America given all things related to Operation Condor, so I'm interested in knowing what your country was producing musically during these times.

Here in Uruguay, for rock music there were bands such as Opus Alfa, Montevideo Blues and Días de Blues with a distinct psychedelic and bluesy influence.

Special mention to Psiglo, a prog rock band that's one of Uruguay's best in my opinion.

Meanwhile you had acts such as Totem and El Kinto mixing candombe with rock and pop, what would later be labelled as ''candombe beat''.

So there's this hardcore punk band called Los Crudos from Chicago, with all Latino members. Turns out the vocalist Martín is Uruguayan!

How fucking cool is that

For example: I'm a middle class hipster who's never been outside of his country, while the average person here seems to have visited 40 countries and studies computer science and shit.

I know there's gotta be more people like me out here.

Some time ago I found about this user, she used to be active in r/uruguay years ago. Skimming through her profile you can see she struggled mentally with some type of mental illness.

Her last post is on r/suicidewatch, 7 years ago. I found the whole thing to be pretty eerie.

Personally, I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 1 just a few weeks ago. Treatment so far has been a shit ton of pills.

Meanwhile the country's experiencing a mental health crisis with one of the highest suicide rates in the world.
