What Finals Week Should Be:(for me)
I do think Finals Week has gone a little stale over the years. Mostly towards the finale format and all has been okay or meh.
So here it is:
Quarterfinals (Top 4): The Service Challenge: They have a 2 course meal they serve to a crowd. Top 3 make it to the semi-finals.
Semifinals (Top 3): 2 rounds. One creative challenge. One pressure test. Two highest scorers make the finale.
Finale (Top 2): 3-course (maybe even more) Banquet Challenge. 10 Diners. Diners will be guest judges/mentors throughout the season. All can score. Winner is the highest score. Cohesion is also part of the criteria.
Finale Results: Can potentially be filmed on the day or days before. Or they film the finale nearer the airing.
Luca S4 Finale Pannacotta Question
So I just came by the clip, and Luca had mentioned he forgot to strain the panna cotta. Then, he proceeded to remake the panna cotta again.
Why couldn't he just have strained the mixture he already made? I mean, like with panna cotta, you're still supposed to strain it again with the gelatin mixture that's been melted cuz there still could be gelatin bits.
It's not like the panna cotta has been set, and was ready in the pot.
I mean it still went well in the end. Just took off time from him.
Fun Fact: Julie Goodwin had a Christmas Album
Just randomly stumbled upon this. It's really interesting they combined making her an album with her cookbook.
Julie Goodwin did give me Susan Boyle kind of vibes lol. I mean they were both mothers in early competition shows. Plus they have curly hair.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything of her singing. Though, I do feel like I could imagine her singing voice. Like I can feel her cover of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas would fit her
Neither Courtney or Leslie swapped sugar for salt (As dictated by science)
I know this has been a huge debate for all time. Like people questioning the judge's decisions and all that.
But it's practically impossible for either Leslie or Courtney to have made what they made if they did swap it.
For one, in Courtney's case, salt kills yeast, especially in huge quantities. Had she swapped it, she would have had dense donuts. She would have had hockey pucks for donuts. And we could see her donuts looked good. It would have been impossible for the icing since she used powdered sugar.
In Leslie's cake, similar to Courtney, had he swapped, his cake would be flat. That's why there's also the whipping with the sugar process, and salt will strengthen the gluten in his cake. And also the case it wouldn't have worked cuz his cake used a ganache from what I remember.
My theory is that they both just added too much salt. Instead of 1 tsp, they added 1 or more tbsp. I've made that mistake, and it's actually surprising how salty can something be with that small of a mistake.
I think Gordon and production just exaggerated it all for production purposes. The swapping critique sounds a lot more dramatic than you just added too much salt.
A question On Five Spice (from the last episode)
So from the last episode, Daniel got eliminated on his five spice brownies.
So we can debate on if brownies are a good dish, but my question is mostly on what Gordon said about five spice.
And I do cook, and from what I know, you don't really need to toast dry powdered spices, and doing so will easily burn. You only toast whole spices.
Daniel did the right thing by blooming it in fat, and that's what a lot of people do with spices, also in curries and all.
So that makes me question what Gordon means that the brownie has "raw five spice". I don't get it. It's not like Daniel made it from scratch. Maybe he added too much five spice.
In Masterchef canada, someone also made a five spice dessert tho they added it to a crust, and they added it completely raw, and they weren't called out on it.
It just made me think. I already think Gordon already making up his mind on his dish is too simple, when others have simpler dishes. I though Daniel's was already in the risky side with the flavor combos. And I think Joe probably thought this too with his comments.
And I'm not saying his was good. But that just made me question what Gordon was saying this episode. Tiffany and Joe made clearer comments ngl.
Annabelle's Bathroom
I just found this so funny lol
What was Billie McKay's (S7) Audition Dishes
I was rewatching the seasons and I'm not sure if I missed her both times, but it doesn't seem like they featured her at all.
I wonder if any of this information of what she cooked or even how many yeses she got or who gave her a no is out there.
Even in the second chance round, it seems like everyone was featured except for her, and she got through lol. Seems like she cooked a fillet steak, but they didn't even give her a chance to even say her dish. She wasn't even in the montage, just in the you got an apron montage.
What some contestants were planning to do & other facts (Season 18)
It's kind of interesting to see the planning and studying processes.
Also just noting here, only few mentioned their future plans but a lot did mention some of their plans and all and other facts about them in the show.
Emily - While she didn't say any future dishes, it's interesting to see that she says she was always working on her weaknesses and trying to learn something new. She hadn't even been making noodles before Masterchef, so its interesting she made a lot of dishes from that.
Hannah - Also not a future dish but “On the nostalgia challenge, I made an elevated MasterChef-worthy dish inspired by Shepherd’s Pie, and I wish there was more of why I chose that and what the dish actually was,” she explains. The dish was inspired by her mother’s cooking and her family’s history as sheep farmers."
Grace - She was working on perfecting sausages, but only mastered it on the day she went home lol. She also said Casper might make one soon in her honor. She also mentioned a salt and pepper ice cream with chocolate mousse
Jackie - Mont Blanc with Ube, Chestnut and Hojicha (sounds so good) She may have some pop ups soon.
Lydia - "Passionate about her Greek heritage, she told New Idea she had “pages and pages of ideas” which included aspects of her culture, and techniques she learned in the kitchen. She even developed a moussaka dumpling and a crustless eggplant pie!" (This was before the comeback round)

Masterchef- Prawn & Chocolate Sauce
Just randomly found this in one of my old archives or whatever. I do think remember what season this came from but I'm pretty sure this one was older australia
Grace Stirs Up Success - Her Parents?
Just a random discussion.
As a Filipino, I did see a discourse earlier of people fighting about Olivia Rodrigo's ethnicity, and it did bring me back here to where I first remembered seeing her.
When I watched this a kid, I did immediately clock out that Olivia or Grace is half filipino from the get go, and I remember also questioning as kid why she didn't look like her family. I know she is part french and a big part of that movie was her exploring that. But I just found it funny as kid, like why is she the odd one out.
I do know a lot of these dolls do have their own books, and I don't think its canon that Grace is filipino or even mixed, and this probably was all just color-blind or just the best casting choice, it just makes me wonder what the actual in-universe explanation of why Grace looks different from her parents.
Could it be that the parents re-married earlier in their life and that they just never made it a big deal? Could it be adoption? Or could it be that her mother was unfaithful lol? Or maybe an accidental hospital swap thus why no fam drama.
Comeback Episode Prediction
These are just random analyses, so like idk. Just based on hunches
Saw an article and I kinda feel like it def wont be >!Lydia!<. There was kind of a mention on the list of dishes they were planning, and I don't think a returnee would mention that.
I also don't think its >!Miin!<. Though I could be wrong, but it's just their goodbye message felt too much of a goodbye and following new path type of thing. >!Lucy!< also had a very big goodbye that really did feel like one, but also not sure cuz they also have a lot of BTS photos, but a bit more on the maybe not for me.
I have a hunch its >!Bella!<. The way this person is wording their posts as well. They've mentioned things like "Bye for Now", which feels like they came back >!and made it far. She's also promoting the show a lot more recently, and mentioned she's excited for sweet week, but that could mean anything. Also, one of the recent dish previews feel like it's more Bella coded than anyone, though again could be wrong, but it also didnt feel like a pressure test type.!<
It could also be >!Alita!<. For someone who posted a lot, they haven't posted a goodbye message, which probs doesn't mean anything. >!Olaolu's!< message was okay, but it's too early to analyze. And the rest, I just feel like they don't as much. >!Kanika !<is promoting new things now, and I feel like>!she was way too bitter about her elimination/not getting tasted!<for someone who would come back.
But the returnee could also be one of those that just got eliminated. And many of the ones in the past seasons, have returnees of those who just got eliminated. So like this is a possibility.
They did spoil who wasn't there in the Irwin Elimination. And unless I'm just blind, it was >!Jack!< who was initally eliminated, unless they won some sort of special immunity. Makes me wonder what the immunity format is. So maybe all this analysis is useless lol.
Born To Shine - Character Analysis of Dara? (Ep 63)
I've recently just really gotten to this show, and with the recent episodes, I feel so bad for Dara's character.
Sure, I get naman yung sentiments na puro away, but they foreshadowed the things from the start. I think they could have toned it down sa mga nauna, pero the ones now I'm okay with.
Medyo annoyed lang ako sa YT comments now of saying that Dara is the villain and should "move on" at innocent si Minchie, like what? I feel like medyo toxic and simple-minded one note yung mga thoughts na yan.
Of course sure naman, Jeni doesn't deserve naman any hate from the adults since wala naman siyang ginawa, and even Dara acknowledged that before she heard the "Dio is the father" leak by Perry.
Like who wouldn't be mad after that? It was clear from even when Dara forgave Minchie that it wasn't even 100% okay. She was trying her best to move on and make things right, pero it was still hard.
A lot of the other comments say "Blame Dio, Not Minchie". Sure, Dio is to blame for a lot of things, but Minchie is completely not innocent and I'm so annoyed at those who keep thinking she's not. that doesn't erase the fact that Minchie still betrayed Dara, both as a friend and member. She still went out with Dio, kahit pa kasama niya si Dara. Like that's enough to destroy it. We can see na from the start, insecure na si Dara with Dio and his playboy tendencies.
And even when betrayed by Dio, she should have done it privately. Doing it during the proposal and in front of paparazzi was the WORST place to confont Dio. Of course magagalit si Dara, whether or not, totoo or hindi totoo yung sinisabi ni Minchie. Plus Minchie lied rin na that Dio was not the father of Jeni. And bagong info na rin yan, right after she trusted Minchie again, so that's why she's spiraling now.
As for Dio, Dara was in a very toxic relationship with him. She loved him pero also didn't know if she could trust him. Like she didnt know to what extent he would have cheated on her. And why shouldnt she be mad at Minchie. For one, she was her friend and was the other woman who knew she was in a relationship with Dio.
And also, Dio is dead so like what can Dara do? In their personal time, its clear Dara was always accusing him and insecure. She wanted to trust him since she loved him pero its not like she was blind. Its not like the family treated him as innocent. They loved him but knew he was a playboy
I think from Dara's perspective lang. I would also not want to associate myself or be near with Minchie. And while innocent naman si Jeni, she is just a reminder lang of Dio and Minchie's betrayal. That's why rin she's telling Megan to trust no one, kasi Dara has extreme trust issues now, and valid pa rin.
Plus, at most in the past, Maybe in Dara's view, Dio just had admitted that he was looking at women or like in a relationship, but that didnt mean having a child. Plus Minchie lied in the past that Dio wasnt the father. So like the fact that Dio went that far really hurt her. Shes mad at both Dio and Minchie for sure for really betraying her trust.
Sure, Jeni doesnt deserve any of it. And not defending Dara, but Jeni represents basically the thing that haunts her past. Thats why she was telling Megan to teust no one, kasi if her best friend and husband can do such a thing, then why not.
Like valid talaga yung pag spiral ni Dara, who woudlnt
Why do people hate Meghan so much? (like so much)
I don't know if this is the right place, but this subreddit looks pretty decent.
So basically, I came here from Masterchef Australia and saw a trailer of her appearance there. I was honestly quite excited to see that she was a judge. I also did watch a few episodes of With, Meghan, and I enjoyed it. Even tried out some of her recipe hacks.
I was just really surprised tho to see the comments and posts. Like I get if they don't like her, but many are treating her as if she's the devil. Many are wanting to boycott. Even to the point they were bullying the other judges for being excited or even simply with Meghan walking lol (it just seemed long cuz it was uncut)
I even saw another random video and honestly it was just baseless hating and projecting. I think it was her as a judge on a kid's cooking comp, and it was obvious the reactor and commentors do not watch cooking competitions.
There are just even some posts out there where I have to roll my eyes cuz they're using all these big words, but barely anyone seems to be talking of things she actually did. And I even did try to make a post there and ask them, but no one really gave anything substancial.
And sure, I get that every celebrity or someone of influence will always get their share of hate. But the case of Meghan Markle is just so interesting at this point, cuz the hate is so intense. And when I even check the profile of the haters, they aren't burner accounts, they're actual albeit older people, and some of them seem to still have their careers/
Like she's really hated atp, but the level of things she's done at most should be "disliked". (And for the record, I'm not a hater. I just want to understand)
Like for example, they call her a hypocrite because she wants privacy, but is still doing shows. But like for me, she's literally an actress. Like someone can still want to promote themselves without wanting people invading their space.
Another example is probably turning Harry against his family. While manipulation can happen, I just feel like that takes away his autonomy.
I don't know. With this type of hate, I expected her to do something like a crime or something more morally wrong. I dunno.
I just hope there's really something at least substancial enough whether or not false
Who do you want to come back so far this season?
We're getting near to the hallway point and probably to a second chance round.
I'm wondering. Who does everyone want to see back,
MCAU Facebook
Just a very random topic. And I also know probably the demographic here is very different than here. But tbf, my culture still uses Facebook, even the younger generation lol.
So basically, I just stumbled upon it seeing other discussions, and my gosh, this Facebook page seems almost as toxic as Twitter wars lol.
I mean I expect that most Masterchef Australia discussions would remain relatively healthy, since that's what the target is, but that place is like so far from healthy.
And I can't even see them as trolls hiding behind a burner account. So I find it so surprising how people can be so comfortable being like that with their names and faces displayed like that. And some of them seem to have their own careers.
But almost every week, there was a post about Poh's outfits then suddenly it shifted onto Sofia. There are also a lot of racist (or at least unknowingly racist) comments about the show or contestants, and some overreacting posts about Meghan Markle lol.
And it's funny, almost a lot of these trolls defend themselves saying "That's my opinion" or "Free Speech". Like even I mentioned the "unknowingly" cuz some explained it better than the comments but still don't see the issue.
Again, I understand it's a different demographic. Mostly white old women, with a few white old men, and like they have probably different viewpoints and all that. I'm not Australian so like I don't have much knowledge, but irs very interesting.
Overall, like I know it's a different discussion, but I just found it wild. I definitely do appreciate the anti-trolls. They're honestly SO ENTERTAINING and FUNNY. Some of them have so much wit lol
Will YUMI become an actual PPop group?
I do think if given the right songs, training and management, they can do really well as a group. I know most members are made of soloists/actors, but I do think they can be solid,
I remember seeing comments saying Zeph is too good to be in a group. But I actually think she does shine in a group, and her voice really just adds a lot to the harmonies thats actually bagay.
I do hope they pull a Big Time Rush, and release actual music as a group. A lot of groups now have members who still do solo activies, so why not?

I just wanted to add some ice cream products to my business.
I simply just wanted to add some ice cream products to my business. So I was wondering if there are any places that rent out these types of equipment within Metro Manila for a few hours at a time.
So if anyone has any place they know, please do reach out here hehe!
Thank you so much!
