I have been dealing with incontinence for the last 6 years. I am a 26 y/o male that served 9 years is the Army. I was first deployed in 2020. Once I returned from my deployment I started to suffer from symptoms of PTSD such as nightmares, anxiety, depression to name a few. My incontinence started with infrequent bedwetting, I would have nightmares, sometimes of things that happened to me and other times just completely random nightmares. I would wake up drenched in sweat and clearly had wet the bed. I just associated the bedwetting with my nightmares and wrote it off for a while. The bedwetting eventually started to become more regular, I was having nightmares about half of the nights of the week but waking up wet almost every night. I decided that I would get a mattress protector and chucks pads to help keep everything clean. Fast forward a few months and I was simply OVER the constant laundry that I was doing and decided that I would try diapers. I got some cheap store brand diapers that leaked every single night, and eventually ended up finding northshore megamaxs online and that has been my primary night diaper for the last 6 years. Now, I started to have some urge issues over the last 6 years but they were not that bad, I just noticed that when I had to pee it was kind of a "you need to go...NOW" signal. This progressively got worse over time and I started to use male guards to catch any leaks or accidents from not making it to the bathroom. I then deployed again in 2024-2025 (I was very lucky to have a commander that I was able to explain my condition to and he was able to help me make accommodations so that I could deploy). Once I returned from my 2nd deployment my daytime urgency continued to progress. I started to get to a point where I was having more accidents trying to get to the bathroom, than I was actually making it to the bathroom. over the last year, I have basically become fully dependent on diapers for urinary incontinence, I still feel the urge to go but I have less than 60 seconds on a good day to get to a bathroom or I will fully void my bladder. I have talked to my primary doctor about this and they diagnosed me with urinary incontinence, mixed. And she also stated that she felt that it was caused primarily by my PTSD and that it was likely exacerbated by my 2nd deployment. Has anyone here experience urinary incontinence due to PTSD or trauma? I feel like I am alone in this category because there is nothing physically wrong with me that is causing my incontinence. I have a follow up appointment with a urologist on the 1st to get a more specialized medical opinion.

So as my last post said I have minimal documentation right now. But I do have a full list of diagnosis from my provider, personal statements, buddy statements, and nexus letters for 4 of the conditions I filed for. My doctor is waiting for the notes from my psych and urology visit to write the final two nexus letters. Should I go ahead and file and upload the nexus letters once I get them, or should I wait until I have them in hand?

Here is my diagnosis list:

Male erectile dysfunction

Chronic pain

Post dramatic stress disorder

Mixed urinary incontinence

Nocturnal enuresis

Nightmare disorder

Irritable bowel syndrome

Diarrhea

Constipation

Fecal urgency

Migraine

Tinnitus, bilateral

Unspecified hearing loss, bilateral

Nausea

Pain in left knee

Pain in right knee

Pain in left hip

Pain in right hip

Low back pain

Pain in right shoulder

Essential hypertension

Fatigue

Insomnia

Moderate depression

Generalized anxiety disorder

ADHD, combined type.

I have nexus letters for IBS, Depression anxiety and panic attacks, migraines, chronic fatigue and insomnia.
