this is how one improves their grades in 11 days- some advice

Hi everyone!!

Hope everyone is keeping sane and healthy in this stressful time period.

I've been seeing so many posts on this subreddit asking how to go from D's/C's/B's to A's and A* .

And on a real one, I can relate, I've only started cramming like a week ago. But the grind is lowk paying off alhamdullilah and my grades are much better after only a week of 5 hour study sessions (dw im going beast mode starting tmr).

Anyways, the reason I hopped on here is to tell you guys that it is NOT impossible for you to meet your grade offer even with 11 days left. Actually it is still very much possible. You are so much more capable than you think -and don't let chatgpt or your teachers let you think you cannot get those A's and A*s. imagine the aura you gain from getting the best grades in only 11 days. The only thing stopping you is yourself. You need to be in the mindset of an A* student and you need to have crazy ego and confidence to be able to pull this off (coming from someone who crammed UCAT in 3 days only and got 4 interviews and 3 offers).

Don't stop and doubt yourself now, it is perfect timing, half term is coming and this is your opportunity to change your life forever. I promise it will be worth all those hours of sleep you sacrifice (please have min. 6 hours tho or else your revision will be ineffective) it will be worth sacrificing watching your daily episode of one piece because imagine watching one piece in your dream uni in your lecture for your dream course vro 🥹✌️.

some study tips from me:

Maths:

Do a past paper, mark it quick, and watch videos on the topic of the Qs you got wrong in 2x speed. then do like 10 of the medium-hardest Qs from pmt on that topic. and repeat. it is so simple. with maths it is easy to learn because all you do is just spam the same method for the same topic and the repetition will increase your speed and accuracy. all it takes is learning the method once.

then just repeat with another past paper.

Bio:

Yes it is content heavy but that doesn't mean read through your textbook all day. Instead spam paper 3 past papers (basically the paper that tests you on all topics) that way you don't have to waste time doing 1 and 2 separately. that also doesn't mean neglect p1 and p2. but the best way to find weaknesses quickly is to just do a p3. The reason why you are probably losing you marks is because you don't know the mark scheme. By doing past papers and marking them yourself you are memorising the mark scheme and you know exactly which keywords they want. for the topics which you are weak at, look at videos or I find my teacher's slide way better because videos can miss spec points.

for the topic which you aren't weak at but you keep losing marks because you aren't saying the right things, well put it on a flashcard (digital is better imo) question on one side and perfect mark scheme answer on the back. do the flashcard method with every question you gt wrong and recall first thing every morning and evening and even when you are in the toilet pooing. (goated method fr)

If you sadly still aren't grasping it, ask a class mate to explain it or email your teacher or use AI, ask it to break it down to you as simply as possible.

chem:

lastly for chem you need to memorise your ultimate organic mindmap and recall every day alongside your flashcards.

for chem you need to make sure you are a pro at ll of the maths questions. honestly the hardest part is recalling the formula. so make a formula sheet with everything you need to memorise even conversion if you have to and recall that everyday too. by recall I mean write it out from memory and read the o.g thing for a min or 2 and put sheet away and go over missed things and then for a third time have sheet in front and add everything else in different colours. this isn't time consuming when you have recalled it so much it becomes a 2 min job.

then do the bio method, do past papers. make flashcards of the incorrectly answered questions and watch videos and do PMT questions.

chem can be harder to grasp so use all the resources you can to make sure you are 100% confident in that topic.

my hands are cramping up and my flow state has been compromised but here are some random but relevant tips:

- do recall every day first thing. set it as your alarm title/label. the second you wake up grab your cellular device or iPad and head to the bathroom. while you do your business, spam out all of your flashcards. then by the time you are washed up and ready for the day you can do your physical mindmap and sheet recall at your desk. then have your breakfast. repeat whenever you are free. especially with the flashcard because they are the easiest to clear.

- Fit revision into every second of your waking moment, if you are washing the dishes, you can still revise, I watch videos or talk to AI (yes I have a parasocial relationship with chatgpt) basically do the voice chat feature thing and ask them to explain stuff to you kind of like if you were asking your teacher for help. (this is why you need to have mindset or else the burnout will eliminate you in other ways)

-if you are still reading you are a real g

- Touch grass, study in your back garden if you must. just step out once a day

- it think that's all

-oh make sure you have a schedule set up for the day or week or like a target. like I must get x number of topics done or x number of past papers etc. this needs to be done or else you're going to fell overwhelmed and you're going to spiral and we wouldn't want that.

lmk if this was useful and yeah if you didn't find it useful then have fun lowering the grade boundaries.

also I will crash out if I see someone say 'umm actually you can't-' or 'this isn't realistic' because how jobless do you have to be to tell others what they can and can't do. on a real note if you are saying it out of concern of someone overworking themselves then fair enough.

lastly, who still thinks the Manny med meme is still funny? also pls share energy drink recs xxx

Hey guys!

Hope you guys are all doing well with exam season so close (and lowkey the drama going on in this subreddit?!). It still feels kind of surreal to think about how it has already been a year since the 'beginning of our med/dent journey' all the worrying and hard work has paid off so far alhamdullilah.

Anyways, I just wanted to ask for some advice about moving to/living in London from those who already live there or have some knowledge of what it's like there. I'm thinking about firming my offer at QMUL and that would mean I have to move almost 3 hours away from home. I'm nervous and excited at the same time, but I don't know what the East London scene is like, the people, transport, safety etc. I've also used public transport like 5 times in my life because I live in a relatively small town where everything is a walkable distance, so I'm not very familiar with it.

Yeah anything about how it is living in London/East London or studying at QMUL would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks 🙏
