Starting with ETFs
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to start investing in ETFs but honestly I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information online. I’m in my mid 20s, based in Europe, and my goal is to build a substantial wealth.
I already have some savings sitting mostly unused and I realized inflation is basically eating them. I’m not looking to get rich overnight, but I do want to build something intelligently over time.
A few things I’m confused about:
-How many ETFs should a beginner realistically hold?
-Is something like MSCI World enough on its own?
-Accumulating vs distributing ETFs?
-How important is hedging for someone investing in euros?
-Is lump sum usually better than DCA psychologically and statistically?
-Which mistakes do beginners make most often?
I’d also appreciate: portfolio examples, broker recommendations available in Europe, things you wish you knew before starting, and/or resources that actually explain ETFs clearly without sounding like finance gurus trying to sell a course.
Trying to approach this rationally and avoid doing something stupid just because TikTok says “VOO and chill”.
Thanks!
