New boating app

Would anyone here be willing to help me test a new boating app I’m building? It’s completely free. I’m mainly just trying to test stability and get some feedback.

The main feature of the app is that it lets boaters mark stumps, rocks, and other obstructions on a map, that way other boaters can avoid them. It’ll be especially helpful when water levels rise.

You can manually drop pins, but one feature I’m excited about is that you can also take photos of obstructions. If you take two photos from different angles, the app can use AI to help triangulate and plot the obstruction on the map. The map also includes current lake level, weather, and some marina info.

I plan on publishing this in July. Any obstructions recorded now in beta will transfer over to version 1. I have free beta versions available for both iPhone and Android. If anyone is willing to try it, please send me a message!

Thanks for your time everyone!

First app!

Hey everyone.

I’m nearing the finish line for my first app. It’s a free boating app that lets users plot obstructions like stumps or rocks by taking photos of them. AI calculates the obstructions position by taking your coordinates and the bearing from you to the obstruction. So you need 2 or more photos from different directions. I think it’ll be especially helpful when water levels rise - that way you have an idea of whats below the surface.

I’m now in the testing phase, and I’ve got links for the iOS testflight and google play closed testing. Anyone want to take a look?

New boating app

Hi everyone!

I’m working on a new app called BuoyPilot. It’s a free lake hazard mapping app for boaters. The app allows users to take photos of obstructions like stumps and rocks, and then AI triangulates its position and plots it on a map. It can then alert you and other boaters if you’re getting too close to an obstruction. It’s especially helpful for capturing the location of stumps when the water level is low, so when it rises you have an idea of whats below the surface. The app also includes lake info, marinas info, and some weather/radar features.

I’m looking for people to help test before launch. This is an early version, so I’m not looking for perfection — I’m mainly trying to make sure the app is useful, understandable, and reliable.

I’ve got beta versions for both iOS and Android. Comment or message me if you’d be willing to test it!
