Moody Ji

Found this old interview of CM Modi.

He used to be bold, brash, aggressive in front of the media and press.

Don't know what happened after 2014, that he became submissive with 0 press conferences since then.

Anyways, this interview is actually funny. 🤣

"Mooche ho toh Nathulal jaisi ho, warna na ho!"

The CO and 2IC of the 26 Assam Rifles rocking the moustache look.

26 Assam Rifles is nicknamed the "Bluechip Paltan".

There is an interesting anecdote about it. The name was given by Gen SF Rodrigues (Former Army Chief).

This unit was deployed in OP Pawan in Sri Lanka as part of IPKF, where it performed brilliantly. Then right after the commencement of the ops, the unit was sent to J&K.

It again performed exceedingly well, it had the (then) highest kill in a year record of about 200+.

The unit earned more than 100+ gallantry awards from the Sri Lanka and J&K tenure combined.

The unit received COAS citation by Gen Rodrigues and during the same ceremony the Chief said "26 Assam Rifles is like a Bluechip stock for us" and urged the CO to adopt this title.

And since then, it is called "Bluechip Paltan".

Newly built Jodhpur Airport Terminal

Newly built Jodhpur Airport Terminal, Rajasthan inaugurated today.

Overall looks are almost at par with Guwahati and Bengaluru airport..

But what stands out is the greenery outside the building, which makes it look more spectacular.

For interior, I feel Guwahati is a notch above.

Chapris disguised as Zubeen Da's fan

These Chapris are ruining Zubeen Da's legacy in the name of fandom.

Recently, in our apartment.. a security guard was involved in the same. He used to drink and shout "Joi Zubeen Da" every midnight.

This went for 3-4 days.

Later when the society confronted him.

Instead of apologizing or being sorry.. he was being agressive saying - " apunalok nibisare neki Zubeen da ae nyay paye buli"

He was later removed by the agency.

People need to calm down a bit.. we all are Zubeen Da's fans.

I've been his fan before most of these were even born.

There is a way to give respect.

Japan PM visit likely to be cancelled.

Though I'm not very sure how authentic Aboyob is..

But if this is true, it is very unfortunate for us.

This is the 2nd time Japan PM's visit is cancelled after the 2019 CAA protests.

Hope the Indian Govt will convince them to come.

Zubair Anam on UCC Bill

I personally keep a neutral stand in politics but have voted BJP till date due to lack of strong leadership from the opposition faction.

But this man, Zubair Anam, MLA from Algapur is someone whom I have always admired since his NSUI and Youth Congress President days.

His clarity of speech and good education background clearly reflects in his behaviour.

Probably the first time we have a very good people's representative from Barak Valley.

Irrespective of ideologies, he deserves praise.

More of the youth should come into electoral politics.

Revolt in Uniform

Was scrolling through FB and this post came up by someone who is a veteran of the Assam Rifles.

The caption basically says - "What happened in Assam Rifles in 1986?"

This particular year was unprecedented for the AR and probably the whole Armed Forces.

A fact which has been buried from everyone.

Assam Rifles - The Paramilitary Force as people know today is way different from what it was before 1986.

Before this year, AR used to be affiliated with Indian Army regiments like the Rashtriya Rifles of today.

And the troops were entitled to the same pays and perks as the Indian Army including the Military Service Pay.

The uniform was also olive green.

The 4th CPC came in 1986, and it recommended to GoI that AR shouldn't get facilities at par with the Army.

Following which, the GoI stopped all the Army affiliations, pays and perks were decreased.

The then DG, Lt Gen PE Menon who spearheaded all these then changed the uniform from Olive Green to present Grey shirts and the winter wear Angola drab too was stopped.

The AR Act which governs the force today was non existent then.

As AR was subjected to the Army Act 1951 for majority functions and also the British era AR Act 1941 for few minor functions.. this act basically states that - "AR is deemed to be Army"

So after this, all of these acts were no more applicable to them.

As a result of all these massive changes within days, there was massive outrage among the troops.

Many had gone into hunger strike and were directly disobeying their officers.

When the Senior General officers tried to reach out.. their helicopter wasn't being allowed to land.

This went on for a few days but later the senior JCOs somehow calmed down the situation.

Later, more than a thousand soldiers were subjected to Court Martial and jailed in quarter guards.

This was probably the only time in India when salaries and perks were decreased after a pay commission rather than hiking.

The present CAPFs officers who feel betrayed by the MHA and GoI is unfortunate but they have done even worse things in the past.
