I've finally received the email to book my first assessment appointment at the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health. But I'm not sure if I should just stay on private hrt.
I'm weighing up whether it would be better to stay on private hrt or the nhs in future. I currently get progesterone, and I'm in the process of switching from GenderGP to Anne healthcare. Both of which prescribe progesterone. If I switched to the nhs in future, I'd have to buy diy Progesterone, but I don't know if it will be easy to get progesterone pessaries rather than pills that way. Does anyone know if it's easy to find them?
Or would it be possible to get estrogen and t blockers from the nhs but stay with Anne healthcare just for progesterone and nothing else?
Also, does anyone know if the NHS prescribes leuprorelin injections for trans adults? It's the testosterone blocker I currently use, as I had liver toxicity issues with bicalutamide. Are they okay with you self injecting? I've been doing my own injections for years.
Whenever I can eventually get a vaginoplasty I want a peritoneal Pull-Through, not a penile inversion. The nhs only do penile inversion, so I wouldn't get it through them anyway. So free bottom surgery isn't a factor in my decision. But cheaper hrt is.
Oh, and another thing is I'm worried if they ban private hrt in the future, I'll wish I'd have gotten on the nhs pathway when it was available.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
