Alternator in 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum gave out for a third time in less than a year, what do I do next?
It started limping and broke down back in April this year. This is the third time in less than a year this has happened, due to what I'm told the alternator failing again. I even bought a new battery at O'Riley a day after this happened, but the employee brought out a battery tester and said the voltage wasn't high enough, around 12 volts when it's supposed to be 13-14 volts, battery was, of course, fine. I bought it back in August last year, long story, and right after a few days the car started limping and began what seems like a curse lol. Had the alternator replaced by Nissan themselves the first two times, first time was paid for and had to wait a long time as the part was on backorder for like three months it seemed like. Then after a week of that, the car gave out again, had to get another alternator from Nissan again since the part had a warranty. It was running fine until this past April. The car has thankfully at least been sitting where I live at, but it's not been started ever since. Just wanted some idea of what to do next, save up money, which has been hard and nearly unable to do, and find a local shop in town to have it repaired, or contact Nissan again or their customer complaint line, I've never had to deal with something like this before.
