(Tyrion/Malora) Could Tyrion open a Citadel Branch in Lannisport?
**Context:** Okay, so imagine a world where Leyton Hightower doesn't decline when Tywin offers Tyrion for a marriage. Tyrion ends up marrying Malora the Mad Maid around the same time that Jorah marries Lynesse.
After visiting Oldtown, Tyrion:
Hears about the story of Peremore the Twisted
Sees how economically and politically beneficial the Citadel is.
Knows that Malora would greatly miss having access to it.
Understands that his marriage means the Hightowers may support his claim to the Rock, even if Tywin doesn't.
If Tyrion petitioned Tywin to fund a Citadel satellite branch (citing how much it would elevate Lannisport's power and that it would be a gift for his new wife), do you think Tywin would agree?
Malora, could also petition her own father to help set it up, acquire maesters, and get the citadel's blessing. She both wants access to knowledge and wants a citadel branch of her own that she can influence to accept female scholars (eventually).
So, is it believable? Any logistical problems I should think about or political implications? This fic is still in its infancy, so I've only just begun drafting the plot.
