Started an antidepressant...

and while it is still early, it already makes a visible difference in my stress levels. Hopefully it only gets better from here.

Can't wait for the heat to ease to get back to exercising. Tips are appreciated how to ease back into it.

Wisdom teeth removal experience

I just found this sub after having my right side wisdom teeth removed and thought I can talk about my experience a little.

My dentist told me for many years that all looked fine and he doesn't need to do an x-ray, despite the fact that my left side wisdom teeth have developed fully and healthily, while the right side teeth emerged late and then got stuck.

At 26 years old I finally got a second opinion- and as expected, a fresh x-ray revealed a number of issues. Misplaced, not enough space, and the upper one leaning against the tooth in front of it. Aka, they had to go. I was sent to a oral surgeon and got an appointment for extraction 2 weeks later.

I admit I was terrified. I had to start an antibiotic the day before surgery, and with it came the nerves. But today went very smoothly- despite surgery being postponed for 2 at first due to some emergency on their side.

I registered, then got taken back to get a device on my finger for pulse and oxygen saturation. I also had to use a mouthwash before they did anything. Then the doctor came in and with a scary looking needle injected a local numbing agent around the wisdom teeth (it didn't hurt much/long). Then we waited around 10 mins for it to work properly.

They tested by poking my gum etc if the numbing worked well, then they started. Honestly, it felt like the opening of the gum and pulling of the teeth took each around 5 minutes only. Stitching took longer than that, haha. Sure, some pressure when they push/pull the tooth, but absolutely no pain etc. They also packed the lower jaw hole with medicated strips. Overall I was done in less than 20 minutes I believe. I was speechless and really wondered why I was even terrified xD

I experienced some light pain somewhat quickly after the procedure though, so I took an ibuprofen 600 the moment I got home. By now its mostly the lower jaw hurting, but its managable. Laying here rn and typing this I barely feel it at all. Have been icing vigoursly too. Just the strip tastes disgusting constantly 🤣

Anyway, I have a checkup in 2 days, to remove the strip, stitches are self-absorbant. I was prescribed up to 4x ibuprofen 600 a day, if needed, thats it. So far its almost enough. Had some soft breadrolls and flavoured water for dinner.

Wisdom teeth surgery + cyst

I'm almost 27, my old dentist denied xrays since 2017 and told me from that old xray all looked well. But while my left side wisdom teeth grew great, my right side got stuck not even halfway for over 5 years.

Finally got a second dentist and he immediately took an x-ray, said they had to go and send me to a surgeon. Surgeon also diagnosed a cyst (circled it in pic 2, since the photograph quality sucks). Surgery is scheduled in a bit more than a week.

To say I'm scared is not grasping it. I'm worried about the cyst being something bad or the post surgery time being an absolute nightmare. I just endured a big foot surgery 7 months ago with 3 breaks, 2 screws and a temporary wire, but teeth fucking scare me.

So, cyst experiences? Pre- and post surgery tips? Is pineapple juice actually helpful? I also got an antibiotic to start a day before surgery (amoxicillin). Please also tell positive stories, or Imma die of anxiety 👏

Wisdom teeth removal question

My dentist took this xray and immediately send me to a surgeon, saying both not even halfway emerged wisdom teeth need to be removed. I see why the upper one, but why the lower one? Especially because the dentist said that the lower one is quite close to the nerve and I'm scared of nerve damage. My left side wisdom teeth are fully emerged for years already and healthy.

I called an surgeon but its months till an appointment, so I wanna get some questions answered here/good prepared to the appointment with questions I get recommended here.

I also got diagnosed with a cyst above the backside of the upper teeth, maybe one can see it, though it's hard to see on this photograph. The dentist said it won't be touched unless it causes issues. Is it potentially from the wisdom tooth? Is it gonna keep growing, bc tbh it does look somewhat big. But maybe I'm just worried for nothing.

Console Buddies?

I am- 26/W, I would love some Nintendo Switch gaming buddies- mostly cozy games, like Stardew valley.

I would be open for a spontaneous session today, on a discord call.

I also play Animal Crossing NH, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Fantasy Life I, and others.

For some variation I also like to play MC together on PC.

My timezone is the European GMT+2. I'm mostly active Friday/Saturday/Sunday. During weekdays its only occasionally and only in the late afternoon/early evening due to working early shifts.
