I’m off to check out a GL1100 tomorrow. Is there any way to check or get an idea of just how bad the carbs are for build up etc before I purchase? Some kind of visual check without pulling them apart?
I know the bike starts, so am I just looking for erratic idle at temp?
New to carbs, so this will be a learning experience.

Alright Goldwing nerds, a local to me GL1100 is up for sale, in exactly the spec I want. Interstate, Black, no radio or CB.
I know zero about these bikes, but want to give one a try. I’ve done some reading, I know the basics of what to look for. Trying to avoid carb work if possible, I will be doing at least the belt as the owner has no history.
What do the Goldwing experts hear in the video on this Facebook add? Bike is idling high for sure, but may have just been started and have choke on. Still waiting for the seller to send that info. Specifically looking for feedback on the video. Do you hear anything I should be worried about?
Anyone with the current style BAAK side panel, can you tell me if the stainless steel backing is removable? It looks like it is, but I need to be sure it’s not using permanent fasteners.
