TDCJ Correctional Officer hiring timeline — how long did yours take?

I applied for the Correctional Officer I–Senior CO position with TDCJ around September 21. My application currently shows “Under Consideration.”
Recruiting told me they were backed up about 2 weeks and that I would receive a pre-interview questionnaire by email from a third-party company. I was told I’d have 5 days to complete it, and then the virtual interview would come after that.
It’s now been a little while and I’m still waiting on the questionnaire.
For anyone who recently went through the TDCJ CO hiring process:

How long did you wait for the questionnaire?
How long after applying did you get your interview?
How long did the entire process take from application to job offer?
Did your application stay “Under Consideration” the whole time?
Did you contact recruiting, or did you just wait?
Just trying to get an idea of whether this is a normal wait time or if I should be following up again.

DACA Approved! Texas Timeline (147 Days) – Don’t Lose Hope 🇨🇱🤠

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my timeline in case it helps someone who’s still waiting. I’m from **Texas**, and today my DACA renewal was finally approved after one of the most stressful waits I’ve ever had.
**My timeline:**
📅 Filed online: **January 29, 2026**
🖐️ Biometrics:** February 19, 202**6
⏳ EAD expired: **May 27, 2026**
📌 Last case movement: **June 18, 2026**
✅ DACA approved: **June 25, 2026** (147 days after filing)
During the wait, I tried just about everything I could:
Contacted USCIS several times through Emma and by phone.
Submitted a congressional inquiry.
Kept checking for case movement and updates.
Went to the Texas DPS to renew my driver’s license. Since my DACA was still pending, DPS opened a **SAVE verification** request so they could verify my lawful presence with USCIS before renewing my license. I don’t know if that had anything to do with my approval, but it became part of my timeline while I was waiting.
One thing I noticed is that my **DACA (I-821D) showed approved first**, while my **I-765 Employment Authorization** didn’t update immediately. So if yours looks like that, don’t panic. It can take a little time for both cases to sync.
To everyone who’s still waiting: **don’t give up.** I know how hard it is checking your account every day and wondering when your turn will come. Your approval could be much closer than you think. Keep the faith, stay patient, and keep moving forward.
Wishing the best to everyone still waiting—especially my fellow Texans. Your day is coming too. 🇨🇱❤️

To those of you who’ve been waiting since **November or December**, I know the frustration is real. Don’t lose hope—your approval can still come when you least expect it. Keep fighting. 💙
No matter what state you’re in, let’s help each other. Share your timeline and what you’ve already tried. For me, I submitted an **expedite request** (it was never reviewed), reached out to my **congressional office** (I never received a response from USCIS through them), contacted USCIS multiple times, and even went to **Texas DPS**, where they started a **SAVE verification** request with USCIS while trying to renew my driver’s license.
I can’t say any of those things caused my approval, but if you’re stuck, maybe together we can figure out what other options are available in your state.
