Doing some research, would appreciate thoughts

If you’re looking for a room or roommate in NYC, what’s been harder: getting replies, avoiding scams, or finding a place that fits your budget/location?

If you’re trying to fill a room, what’s more annoying: people not reading the listing, people ghosting after showing interest, or people not matching the basic requirements?

How are BU students finding roommates/off-campus housing?

I’m curious how people are handling roommate/off-campus housing search around BU.

If you’re looking in Allston, Brookline, Fenway/Kenmore, Packard’s Corner, Brighton, or nearby areas, what’s been the hardest part?

Finding legit options? Matching budget and lease timing? Getting replies? Avoiding flakes/scams? Finding people you’d actually want to live with?

I’m testing a idea and trying to learn from people actively dealing with this. Not selling anything, just trying to understand the process.

what’s been hardest about finding roommates?

I’m researching how people find roommates when moving to a new city, especially new grads/interns/working professionals moving to NYC/Boston/SF.

For people currently searching: what’s been the hardest part? Finding enough people, knowing who’s actually compatible, getting replies, avoiding flakes/scams, or something else?

I’m testing a roommate-search/matching idea and would love to learn from people actively going through it right now. Not selling anything, just trying to understand the process.

Hi all, I’m thinking about visiting Dakar next month and wanted some honest advice.

I’d be coming from Boston, and I’m interested in seeing major sites like the African Renaissance Monument, exploring the city, buying local souvenirs/crafts, and doing it in a way that feels comfortable and safe.

My biggest concern is that I don’t speak any French. For those familiar with Dakar, how difficult would it be for an English-only visitor to get around, communicate, and explore without a lot of stress? Is it still worth going, or would the language barrier make the trip much harder?

Also, how should I prepare in advance? Would hiring an English-speaking driver/guide be the smartest move?

Would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
