43m, 4 years ago I was the guy wearing a shirt at the beach and my shoulders were so wrecked from work I couldn’t do a single push up. Keep grinding! 💪🏻

After I finished an 11 year stint with an oilfield contractor, throwing steel around by hand every day. My shoulders were wrecked. I was an athlete in my youth and I felt brutal about myself because I got complacent.

I had always figured if I had a heavy manual labour job that I didn’t need to workout.

One day while I was sitting at the beach with my shirt on I had an epiphany and decided it was time to get back to being proud of myself again.

I woke up at 3:30am from that day on and grabbed my kettlebells and went hard until there was a pool of sweat on the floor.

Today, I still have a long way to go, but my physical and mental health have taken leaps and bounds.
Sometimes things feel impossible, but as soon as you hear your inner voice telling you that you can’t do it, you prove yourself wrong.

Not all days feel good, I still look in the mirror and don’t like what I see, but bit by bit, day by day, I’m slowly changing myself into the person I always knew I was.

Don’t listen to your inside voice, you’re better than that. 💪🏻🙌🏻
