New-ish Investor here-just listened to The Simple Path to Wealth, JL Collins

Background: 52 yrs old.

$62K in old 401K I haven't transferred to new employer. $30K in a 401a/403b. $49K/in a Roth - I max out every year, but some years have been missed because I was an idiot.

Currently contributing 13% of new salary to new company 401K, should bump up, but not sure how much longer I want to be at this company. I save roughly 50% of bi-weekly pay checks and I have freelance clients that bring more income I save as well.

2 HYS accounts: $20K & $17K

Paid off house, no mortgage. No debt.

I feel like i have a lot of retirement catching up to do at my age. I am super green to investing in the stock market out right. After listening to The Simple Path, I want to take that 20K HYS and put it in his rec - VTSAX - and continue to contribute to it regularly. And that's it.

I feel the need to majorly build for retirement. I was young and dumb and we didn't talk about this growing up.

I don't want things complicated. I just want to set my money and let it do it's thing. Am I crazy thinking this is how I can do it?

Summer heat, hot flashes and light-headedness? Anyone?

(quick background: I'm going on nearly 10 years of peri symptoms and I haven't had a period in at least 7 months solid - maybe longer, I cannot remember.)

Over the weekend I was in a mountain town - higher elevation that where I live full time. I went to breakfast where I had a full breakfast, along with 2 cups of full strength coffee - which is rare for me as I only drink 2 cups of half-caff daily since too much caffeine gives me anxiety attacks now. So after breakfast I get a liter of water and am drinking that as I'm on my way about town.

Probably an hour after breakfast, I was in a store that was pretty warm, a delightful hot flash hits. My hot flashes are different these days - less frequent, but hit more intensely. So hot flash hits, we go outside to where its much cooler and I find myself extremely lightheaded/maybe I'll pass out feeling. Breathing is fine, no chest pains. This feeling hangs around - in waves - for about and hour/hour and a half. I go back home and lie down for a bit, elevate my feet, drink water, etc. As the faint feeling passes, chills kick in a bit and then after a bit I'm back to normal, had a great afternoon evening, all good.

Next morning I wake up feeling pretty good, only to have the lightheaded/faintness feeling come back -lower grade - no coffee either. Can't recall a hot flash preceding. I attribute it to low blood sugar as I didn't eat as much the day before due to feeling faint at lunch time. So we eat breakfast, I feel pretty ok, never great. And I've just felt a bit off since.

I've got a Dr. appt lined up - just sharing to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. It's been a while since I've had a 'hormonal horror' episode, so trying not to feel so alone with it for the time being. Thank you for reading!

Punctual Veterinarian Recommendation

Looking for new vet for my dogs. Current vet has been typically 20-30+ minutes late from the schedule appointment time and the appointments, which have only been check-ups, and can last nearly 2 hours -mostly just waiting. I understand emergencies that happen, etc. But zero communication about why it's taking 30 minutes the appointment I made a week ago, when I'm your first appointment of the day, is just poor customer service. And I see 5+ staff members behind the desk but no one says a word/puts us in an exam room, nothing.

Would love your recs - Plaza Midwood/East area. Thanks!
