The haunted AF attic apartment

First I’m sorry this is a so long. This happened to me in 2009, and it completely changed my thoughts on what is possible in this world. For some background I was a chef at this time. Until around this time i didn’t think anything about paranormal topics. My ex and I had just moved into an apartment right across from the university in my town. It was a huge old (1800s) 4 story house that had been converted into apartments. The apartment was originally the attic of the home and was very small. In the back of the bedroom closet there was a small door about 2’x2’ that opened into a creepy unfinished portion of the attic with no floor and a grimy old window facing the parking lot. The night we moved in I was exhausted from bringing all my stuff in up 4 flights of old wooden exterior stairs repeatedly. On my last trip up one of my new neighbors (who was outside smoking) came up and said something like “Hey, you must be tired, let me know if you need anything to give you some energy” I said no thank you and finished up. Here’s where the weird stuff starts. I didn’t unpack anything I just put my mattress on the floor and went to bed. In the morning at the foot of the bed was a pair of old slacks (I call them that because they weren’t casual pants) they may have been wool, they were dark green, covered in dirt, and sitting on the floor exactly at the foot of where I was sleeping as if someone had taken their pants down and left them sitting there. This naturally freaked me out. I hadn’t unpacked, and I didn’t own a pair of old green dress pants. There was also no way I wouldn’t have noticed them the night before while moving in. I didn’t have a ton of stuff and they couldn’t possibly have accidentally traveled up 4 flights of stairs if they had got caught on my foot or something down in the parking lot. I don’t know why I did this, but I took them, wadded them up, opened that tiny door and threw them as far back into that unfinished attic room behind by closet. They landed in the far back corner about 8’ away, and I shut my door and went to work. The next morning I was getting ready for work and I went to the closet and saw that the pants had been pulled halfway out from under the small door. At that point I knew for sure that something was wrong. I threw the pants away in the trash this time in the garbage can outside. Over the next few weeks more things started happening. Stuff would slide across the bathroom counter, electric appliances kept exploding (like a brand new hair dryer) and I got pushed from behind in the living room. One night my friend came over to get her hair cut by my ex. When they were through I swept up all of the hair and I took all the trash out and put the trash can out on the curb. The next morning when I woke up I was leaving my room for work and stopped short because there was a perfectly spherical ball of hair sitting on the floor directly in the middle of the doorway to my room. It looked geometrically almost perfect, and was perfectly aligned with the center of the doorway. This one bothered me the most because I know I had gotten rid of all the hair the night before. This apartment was TINY, I could see the whole thing at all times. I started talking about these experiences to other people at work asking if anyone knew how to get rid of this thing. Most people did not believe me, or made jokes. Someone told me to put pennies on the ledges above every window and door of my place, leave them there for a few days or a week and then burry them, so I placed the pennies and waited. Before I buried them the activity, moving stuff and taps on the wall ramped up. One day something happened (I don’t remember if I got shoved again or heard a knock or what it was exactly) so we decided to get out of the place and smoke to calm down. While outside pacing back and forth my neighbor who we had met while moving in came outside too. I guess she could tell we were shook bc she asked me what was up. At this point I was past caring if anyone thought I was crazy so I told her everything. She seemed to get very excited at this. She said something like “holy shit! I’m a witch so let’s get that fucker out of there!” Again, at this point I was ready to accept any help, even from a drug dealing Wiccan, and even if I didn’t think she knew anything about ghost busting or whatever. She went and got some “supplies” a Wiccan book of some sort, a jar for the pennies, some paper, and met me upstairs in my apartment. She went immediately to the small door in the back of my closet and opened it, she got down on the floor and began mumbling or reading from her book in a very low soft tone. After a while she came out and said “oh yeah he’s pissed.” We collected the pennies and put them in the mason jar she brought. She began writing on her paper (my guess is a binding spell or something not sure what) and put the paper in the jar as well. It was now time to burry the jar. Our building was on 100% concrete and asphalt so we walked across the street to an empty grass lot and I dug a hole. Right before I was about to lid the jar and put it in the hole my neighbor said “hang on,” drew a knife from who knows where, cut her palm, and dripped some drops of blood onto the paper and pennies in the jar. That most definitely surprised and shocked me. I was not expecting that in the least and she did it so damn fast I barely had time to react. What happened next I would not believe if you were telling me this story, but I swear that this happened, and my ex saw it too. When the drops of blood hit the coins and paper, the jar started filling with thick white smoke. At first I thought she may have dropped something else in there too like a match or the cherry off a cigarette, but there was no time for that. This happened instantly, and her reaction told me she was not expecting this at all either. She screamed “what the fuck!?!?!?” And “holy shit!!!” Repeatedly. We all did. This was too much for my brain to compute. I threw the jar in the hole and buried it as fast as I could. We were all speechless. Mind you I thought this wasn’t a “real witch” this was the equivalent of an Etsy witch, except instead of crystals she sold blow. I don’t think she even knew what she was doing given her reaction, but I kid you not, not a single thing ever happened in that apartment ever again while I lived there. We got to know our neighbor pretty well because of that. The building is still standing even with all of the gentrification that’s happening in my city. I still drive by it sometimes. The lot across the street now has multiple tall apartment buildings on it now. I wonder if they found the jar when they were grading the ground for it. Thank you so much for reading.
