Plant this instead: - River Lily - Crinum pedunculatum

Spider Lilies are common in gardens in E Australia, but they are an introduced plant.

>Hymenocallis contains more than 60 species of herbaceous, bulbous perennials native to the southeastern United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America.

A better option for Australian Gardens is Crinum pedunculatum - Swamp Lily/River Lily.

It is almost exactly the same in structure and flowers.
There are of course, obvious differences.
