How or should I become involved and help my new friend despite just getting to know each other?

Hello everyone 👋, I met my friend 5 months ago online but have been have been pretty close this past 3 months, and as time goes on we only become better friends. My question is is it okay for me to ask them about their gender dysphoria and how I can make our conversation more comfortable if they haven't brought it up to me one to one? For context we have each other on our private social media accounts and I noticed sometimes they would post about their gender dysphoria and how hard it has been on them. They currently are gender fluid but in private they have mentioned being closeted transgender and going by he/him on their private account posts. And I want to support them as much as possible such as using their preferred pronouns wen we talk with each other but I'm not sure if it's right for me to ask since they haven't mentioned it or if I'm overstepping since we haven't known each other that long. And I want to get to know this part of them as well but I'm scared to overstep. Is it okay to ask and if it is what's the best way to ask and start the conversation. Thank you!
