How do I increase Tableau refresh frequency?

I come from a Power BI background at a Microsoft shop. I have a lot of data engineering and analytics experience under my belt. Recently, I moved to a Tableau shop, and I am experiencing issues with the dashboard refreshes, based on what I was told by whoever handed this off to me. Basically, they said Tableau refreshes are based on the server’s capabilities, and the reports draw from our warehouse.

Coming from a Power BI background, once your warehouse refreshed, your Power BI refresh was instantaneous, and your dashboard being up to date quickly was dependent on your data pipeline refreshing. The only time you’d have issues was when you ran live SQL queries against the database, which could cause performance issues. So this is different from what I’m used to.

So I guess my question is: we do have a warehouse where the pipeline refreshes in minutes, but Tableau picking up the changes from the warehouse extract is supposed to refresh every business hour, from six to six. If I calculate it, we just get maybe four to six refreshes during business hours, as opposed to hourly refreshes.

Multiple ongoing issues with upstairs tenants (parking, trash, smoking), landlord won't enforce the lease

TL;DR: Upstairs tenants' extra family and cars have taken over the driveway I've informally used for travel parking, their trash cans (moved to my doorway as a dog barrier) are causing a fly problem, they have an unauthorized pet, and secondhand smoke drifts into my non-smoking unit. Landlord is aware of all of it but hasn't been able to get them to change anything. Looking for advice on my options, plus whether it's worth pushing for a driveway spot to be formally added to my lease.

I rent a basement unit in Ontario. Been here a while with zero issues until recently.

The parking situation: My lease guarantees street parking, but I never actually pushed for a proper driveway spot when I signed. Instead, there was always just an informal understanding that I could use the driveway on the occasions I'm traveling and need somewhere to leave my car. That worked fine for a long time.

The driveway comfortably fits 2 cars, or 3 if everyone squeezes. But with the trash cans now sitting at the front of my unit, it conveniently only leaves room for two. On top of that, the upstairs tenant has one car, and the extended family who are supposedly visiting brought two more, so between them they're now using both driveway spots plus the parking spot directly in front of the house.

Recently there are no spots left for me at all, not even straight back in front of the house. I ended up parking in front of a neighbor's house for three days and got hit with a ticket. I'm about to travel for a month and asked if I could use the driveway while I'm away. They refused and told me to park on the street, which isn't feasible in this area (my car would get towed).

I brought it to the landlord. He tried to get them to allow driveway access and couldn't get anywhere either.

The trash/pest situation: A couple months ago, the upstairs tenants moved their trash cans from the backyard to right outside my unit's entrance. I've been dealing with flies constantly, bad enough that I now keep an electric fly swatter by the door.

Turns out the reason is they got a dog, and they moved the trash cans to my doorway to use as a makeshift barrier for the dog, since there's no gate to the backyard.

The landlord actually brought this up himself, unprompted. He mentioned he'd sent someone to do yard/gardening maintenance and they couldn't get it done because of the dog, and that pets aren't even supposed to be on the lease. So he's clearly aware and frustrated by it too, but nothing's really changed. It's pretty clear he doesn't have much control over these tenants.

On top of that, it's technically a non-smoking building, but they do smoke and it drifts into my unit sometimes. I've never brought that up to the landlord, I just leave the house when it gets to be too much.

Most recently, the landlord mentioned he'd already spoken to them about taking the trash back in and they didn't. He said he could send them a legal notice about it.

On the lease amendment question: Since the landlord has always verbally okayed me using the driveway when I'm traveling, would it be worth pushing to get that added to my lease formally, even just for those travel periods? Not sure if that's realistic to ask for at this point, or if it would actually hold any weight given how things have gone so far.

Where I'm at: I'm actively looking for a new place at this point. But I'd like to know what recourse I actually have in the meantime. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Mainly wondering what options exist for the trash/fly problem specifically, since that's the part directly affecting my unit.

Any Wayne State Law part-time/evening students here?

Hey all! starting as a part-time evening law student soon and trying to connect with anyone else in the program (current students or fellow incoming 1Ls). Curious about how people balance full-time work with the evening schedule, which professors/sections to prioritize for 1L classes, and any general tips for surviving the first year while working full-time. Would love to hear from anyone currently in the program or who's gone through it. Thanks in advance!

Switching teams internally without my manager knowing at Michigan Medicine employees?

Hoping to hear from Michigan Medicine employees.

How does switching teams work without your current manager finding out? I have no issues on my current team, but I keep seeing roles that align better with what I’m professionally suited for.

I haven’t applied anywhere else yet. I also try to stay away from postings where I know my team works with the hiring team.

Aside from word of mouth, would my manager know if I applied to other roles within the organization?
