(21F) I lead on my CPO (36M) at work and then rejected him at a party.
I work aboard an OPV from my country’s Coast Guard. We have been docked on port since late April because of an important engine maintenance.
About two weeks ago there was an event organized by the ship to celebrate last month’s birthdays.
There were seafood and beer, a lot of beer and alcohol.
After some hours into the event, people started getting really drunk, but everything was still okay, just having fun.
I was dancing with my friend group when this officerapproached me and started dancing really close to me. I didn’t care at first since the dance floor was not exactly huge and some other guys tried to approach… but theofficer hugged me from behind and pulled me tight against him.
I panicked.
I froze, and I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I awkwardly swayed with him for a minute. But the second I realized what was happening**,** I politely rejected him and stepped away. I saw his face: he was not happy with me, but he understood the message and left me alone with my Friends.
I hate to admit it, but I’m sometimes a bit flirty. It makes my work easier. Men tend to chew
me out less this way. I mean, just an innocent smile or so.
Next Monday during working hours I noticed he was looking at me more than usual. I usually mess things up since I have little experience onboard, but I get corrected nicely (most of the time). I think he was waiting for one of those messes to happen so he could chew me out.
Then, it happened… I spilled paint on the deck. It was not a big mess, and I immediately cleaned it up, but as soon as I looked up, he was standing there looking at me like a madman. He yelled at me and didn’t lose the chance to tell me “I was on restriction for ruining the deck” (I had already cleaned the deck when he said that btw).
I was completely losing it, but I couldn't say anything! I think he knew what I was thinking when he saw my face tho.
I heard him mutter “Oh, but you are quick enough when it comes to provoking me”
Does that mean I should have hooked up with him not to get restricted every single time I mess something up?!
