SE Heavy Breather in rain
Know it's been asked before, because I searched.... however,
I've owned this 2020 Lowrider for about two months. Today, it rained heavily all day. Rode to work (yes, I don't have a car) in very heavy rain. Bike was parked outside all day as the rain contined. Rode home in more heavy rain after work. It rained so much multiple roads were flash flooding in the area. Main highway got shut with a ten car pile up. Ideal riding weather.
Had the rain sock over the intake all day. Bike began stuttering about 20 minutes into my travel home. Ended up turning off in the middle of a bridge (yay).
Coasted to the end and pulled hard to the barrier. Bike wouldn't restart so jumped the barrier. About ten minutes later, jumped back over and tried again.
The rain sock was sucking hard against the bike. Took it off, and the bike fired up. Got almost the whole way home and it started sputtering again. Revved the piss out of it and it kept going.
When I got home, the filter felt dry to touch. It is just the rain sock being too saturated, the air too most? Never run one of these intakes before for this exact reason as I daily my bikes. But this one came with it and I though, fugg it.
Should I just throw the stock intake back on, or re-oil this filter and keep running it? It's been cammed and dyno'd so I don't wanna mess with the tune. I also love how it runs, but I need a bike that can brave any weather.
Again, know it's been asked many times here, in forums, ect... But when people say these are okay in rain, do they mean real rain, or just a bit of rain.
Thanks and sorry for beating a dead horse.
