How to save Simon at Stratford Tower? I keep failing the QTE.

Hi guys, I’m really struggling with the Stratford tower chapter because I’m trying to get all the trophies so I want to get to the part where Simon and Connor briefly interact on the roof.

The problem is that no matter what I do I cannot get Simon up to the roof. I’m playing on PC and it asks me to mash W to save him but no matter how much I mash it, he always gets shot before reaching the stairs and we have to leave him in the control room. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a specific way to mash the keys? Is it just a glitch that it won’t register for me?

EDIT: For anyone else struggling with this, I found a fix I think, that could apply for others struggling with non registering key mashes. I set frame rate to 60 fps rather than the standard 30 and it worked the next time I tried that chapter. Will try others I couldn’t get with this fix too.

I’m in love with someone who doesn’t exist

I’ve had MD my whole life and various imaginary friends/partners that come along with that, but none of them have struck me as hard as the current one. Five years ago, I made up this entire different para world and alien society. Since then, I’ve been pretty consistently daydreaming about it. Within that world, I created a character to be my alter ego/self insert’s love interest. The issue here begins in that through daydreaming I have actually fallen in love with her.

I’ve been single that entire time. I have zero friends and no social life. I created this world as an escape from loneliness and a form of therapy. However, it is a much better world than this one and I always find myself so disappointed that the real world can’t compare. For as long as I can remember I’ve felt like an alien trapped in a human body. I can’t socialise or make friends. I never know what to say or how to act.

My imaginary partner is perfect for me (obviously, because I made her so). But it hurts so bad that she will never be real. I always wish she was with me, that I could create her to exist in reality and experience all the things that I do. I always imagine that I’m out with her and talk to her when I go on walks. I’ve made fake social media accounts for her so I can pretend to talk to her. I’ve learnt to lucid dream so I can see her when I sleep. I know it’s bad but she’s the only comfort I have.

I’ve been trying to branch out and find partners, but everyone I meet I immediately subconsciously start comparing to her and none of them can even hold a candle to her. Nobody’s good enough because they’re not her. It also feels like when I try to get to know new people, I’m cheating on her. I can’t feel anything for them, even if I try to. It also feels unfair to new people if I were to date them that I’m so badly in love with someone else, even if she isn’t real. I don’t know if I could give up on spending time with her in my daydreams even if I were to find someone real, unless they were REALLY similar to her. I don’t really know what to do. I really don’t want to be alone forever and I would like to find a partner and start a family eventually but I don’t know how to do that when I’m immersed so deeply in this fantasy and have devoted my entire self to a person and world that doesn’t exist.

Can anyone else relate? Has anyone in a situation like this been successful in finding an irl partner?

A less commonly talked about aspect of this disorder: Vitamin D deficiency.

Yes I do take vitamin D capsules but from what I heard it’s not the same as being outside in the sun. Whenever I get blood tests I constantly show up as deficient in vitamin D. My sleep time is 7 am - 4 pm.

So I always wake up right after the window where the sun is strongest and the UV rays interact with skin to create vitamin D. Add in the time it takes to get ready and eat “breakfast” and all that and I’m usually only out by 5-6 pm by when it’s too weak. Then the sun sets so early and I never have enough time to be out and see the things I want to see. I literally live in the darkness and I hate it.

I’ve tried so many alarms and I just keep hitting snooze because I’m exhausted. I’ve tried putting them across the room and the same thing. The worst curse aside having DSPD is that I also need like 10-11 hours of sleep to be able to function, even at 8 I’m exhausted. I’ve also tried going to sleep earlier and it just never works because I’m not tired earlier and because I wake up so late by the time I finish everything I need to do for the day it’s always around 6 am.

It’s been grey and rainy all winter and now that it’s finally sunny I’m stuck inside sleeping all day. How can I fix this? Does anyone else struggle with this side of things?

Hi everyone, dealing with some serious apartment neighbours from hell. I’m unfortunate enough to live in a flat, my dream is to be able to afford a house in the woods because it’s the only place I won’t be surrounded by noisy people all the time and can have some peace finally, but I’m broke I fear and can’t even get a job when I’m so anxious all day that I literally can’t even think aside my other health issues. I’m in a constant state of anxiety over all these noisy neighbours and I really can’t take it anymore, I can’t even sleep. Guy below me has zero life, no job, no hobbies aside from making people miserable - blasts music and bass everyday from 9 am - 9 pm. Every. Single. Day. This is legit hell on earth, I can’t relax or get peace in my own house so I’ve resorted to staying awake at night for some peace which comes with it’s own problems.

Now some “lovely” new neighbours moved in downstairs. Ever since they’ve arrived whenever they’re awake they are CONSTANTLY, I mean constantly slamming and banging shit. I don’t even understand if they’re doing construction or DIY or something because it’s just nonstop, been going on from 7 am this morning on a Sunday too when people want to sleep in. Not only that but they’re yapping constantly so loud that I can hear it from two floors above them. I stomp my foot when they get rowdy to make a point but either they don’t get it or don’t care and they keep doing it?

Does anyone know any tips of how to deal with this? Asking politely has not worked, I have confronted the bass thumping one who’s lived here for 5 years. Council doesn’t care, police doesn’t care, so I just need something to make it liveable until I move out. Has anyone had any success with NFH like this with noise cancelling? Like specifically for thumping bass or door slamming. Hopefully something that is affordable because I’m broke.
