hi everyone!

I have POTS and EDS, and yesterday i got my first tattoo. it is very small and only took about 20 minutes, i felt fine during the entire process. a few hours after i got home, i started feeling really under the weather. sore throat, runny nose, common cold symptoms. today i woke up and i have a lot of green mucus coming out of my nose and my body hurts 10x worse than usual

i’m wondering if this is just my body’s reaction to getting a tattoo? i know tattoo flu is a thing, but i didn’t expect to feel so bad with such a small tattoo. i’m thinking maybe because my immune system is so compromised that this is just how my body is reacting?

i would really appreciate anyone’s advice or personal experiences with this. i would hate to waste a doctor copay on something like this and i want to be prepared for more tattoos in the future!

this weekend, i went to la to go see a few friends. on my second day there the corners of my lips started getting really dry and flaky. i was putting aquaphor on it but it kept getting worse. when i got home sunday night it pretty much looked like this, i took this picture monday night.

sometimes i get angular cheilitis in the corners of my lips, but it has never been this bad, and to my understanding it usually doesn’t go that far down the lip. i put some antifungal cream on it last night and it is less red and irritated today.

i’m just curious if anyone knows if this is angular cheilitis again, or just really really dry lips. i knew california was dry but i didn’t expect it to be THIS dry 😭
