TWI Collection Starter is back, renewed (beta test)

Hello! I’ve just released, in beta, a heavily updated version of my Collection Starter section.

I originally created this to help new collectors get into Thirdway Industries and playing cards in general — I know that starting a collection from scratch can be a bit overwhelming :-)

All the deals are temporary, since I’m still testing the section (it was released to Patrons only yesterday, and I’ve already changed one of the bundles), but everything currently listed is active and available for purchase.

There should be some really good deals: €8 per deck on certain bundles, and free shipping to the US.

I hope this can be useful for new collectors, or for anyone who is missing some of my older decks!

The section isn’t linked from the main ThirdSiren website yet, so for now it’s only accessible through this link:

Thank you and I hope you'll like it!

TWI Lost Decks Vol. 1 - Snake Charmer quick look

The first "Lost Deck", a series where I revisit and reimagine some of my older designs. Snake Charmer was the first one, and it was a Q2 TWI Patreon reward. I wrote more about the concept on this Patreon post (no paywall).

The first multi-foiled deck I’ve made, Millionaire’s Society, is now on Kickstarter

Hey! My latest deck just went live on Kickstarter. It’s a bit “hidden” inside the campaign, since the main project is a tabletop card game (Guards versus Thieves), but the deck — Millionaire’s Society — is also available on its own.

This is my first attempt at using multiple hot foil colors on both faces and backs (4 foils per card). I really hope it will turn out as cool as I imagine it.

If you’re interested, here’s the Kickstarter page:

Thanks for taking a look!

Prototype pics of my second game, Guards versus Thieves

Hello everyone!

I finally received the prototype of my second game, Guards versus Thieves, made by LongPack, and I’m really happy with how it turned out — so I wanted to share a few pictures here.

The Kickstarter is planned for next Monday. If you’d like to follow the project, here’s the preview page with some info:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdwayind/guard-vs-thieves

Guards versus Thieves is a quick asymmetric tactical card game of deception and deduction for 2 players.

One player takes the role of the Master Thief, the mastermind behind a gang of cunning thieves, while the other becomes the Police Chief, defender of the city and leader of the Guards.

You can find the rulebook here:

Curious what you think about it 🙂

The prototype of my second game, Guards versus Thieves, arrived today!

This is the first time I’ve worked with Longpack, and I have to say the quality looks awesome - I’m very happy with the result so far.

Sharing a few quick pics of the prototype.
Has anyone here worked with them before? Curious to hear your experience.

Millionaire’s Society - my first experiment with 2x hotfoil on both sides (copper + silver), feedback welcome

Hello Reddit!

I’m working on a new playing card project called Millionaire’s Society and wanted to share it here.

This would be my first experiment using double hotfoil on both sides of the cards (copper + silver). I know there are already decks out there doing this, but for me, this is the first time :-)

The factory (WJPC) told me it’s doable, but also quite complex and a bit risky in production - so I’m still evaluating it.

If you’re curious, there’s a Kickstarter prelaunch page up. The main project is a tabletop game, but the deck will be available separately as well.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdwayind/guard-vs-thieves

I’ll be launching it once I’ve delivered my previous Kickstarter project, hopefully soon.

I’m asking mainly because this is a pretty complex production choice, so I’d genuinely love to know if this feels interesting and valuable to you.

Thanks for taking a look! Any feedback is really appreciated.

Guards versus Thieves rulebook - feedback request

Hello! I'm Giovanni, and I'm currently working on a new game called Guards versus Thieves.

I just finalized the rulebook and I'd honestly love to hear some opinions about it, both on the graphic design and on the clarity of the rules.

The game itself was designed by Andrea Chiarvesio and Luca Iennaco, while I worked on the visual design/layout of the rulebook. This is only the second rulebook I've made, so I'm still learning a lot.

We decided to explain things very thoroughly this time, which probably made the rulebook a bit longer than average, but the goal was to reduce doubts during gameplay as much as possible.

Here's the PDF if anyone wants to take a look:

Any feedback is appreciated!

Guards versus Thieves - a new asymmetric 2-player card game:

Hello! I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on for a while.

It’s called Guards versus Thieves, a 2-player asymmetric card game about the tension between strict, overzealous Guards and cunning, elusive Thieves.

It’s designed by Andrea Chiarvesio, the author of Chaos: The Card Game (which raised almost 75k EUR on Kickstarter).

The game is simple and easy to learn and set up, but also highly tactical and more skill-driven than luck-based.

At its core, it’s about planning and deception. The Thieves try to pull off crimes, manipulate situations and escape with the loot, while the Guards try to predict their moves, intercept them and figure out what’s real and what’s bait.

What I wanted to capture is that constant mind game where you’re never fully sure if you’re making the right call or just reacting exactly how your opponent expected.

Visually and thematically, it’s set in the same universe as one of my playing card projects, The Gentleman Thief, a 1900s-inspired city with art deco influences, theatrical crime stories, strict law enforcement and very “loud” criminals.

If this sounds interesting, I’ve just opened a prelaunch page where you can follow the project and get notified when it goes live. There will be early bird access as well.

Here is the link > https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdwayind/guard-vs-thieves

Happy to answer questions or hear feedback, especially from people who enjoy asymmetric 2-player games.

Giovanni
