Is it worth the switch?

Moving into a rental flat next month on the 22nd, first time me and my partner will be properly renting after leaving uni.

The current provider is E.on Next, and on paper the energy prices seem similar. But with the benefits that Octopus provide such as free energy hours etc., is it worth the switch from anyone's experience?

Thanks in advance!

Can all insurance providers see black box scores?

My insurance got put down from £1500 a year to £580 a year with no black box after one year of driving.

However, my partner has been driving for 4 years now and his renewal is looking at £600-700 still, with a black box.

Main difference between us is his black box scores annually averages around 50-60, mine was 81 before policy finished. Both of us are with Hastings YouDrive (with me picking to stay with them due to the price and having a brilliant experience with them), and my partner potentially staying depending on his renewal quote with them.

But the reason I ask my above question is, they still want him on a black box, but why? 60 still seems like a fair score and he's been driving 4 years, by now I would've expected him to be off the black box even with a different provider.

The main differences between us are his car is a lower insurance group (6 Vs 8) and he has one less named driver (his dad has 9 points). Same age, same address.

What could be going on here?
