Fogging in the middle of a swim?

Any tips for preventing this or addressing?

My last few race swims - either triathlons or just ows race my goggles are fogging up 500 to 1000m into it to the point I can't see the buoys / have a hard time sighting on anything. If I pause and let some water in it can take a few tries to get the seal and it's never 100% plus the loss of momentum.

At the pool I sometimes put in a tiny drop baby shampoo but I gave the last bottle i had to my kid for their competitive pool swimming. I haven't tried that yet in open water. I've also got new goggles recently and usually that works but the same issue is happening.

Let's do the opposite of Brad - how do we get more bike lanes?

I live in North York. We probably have it the worst.

I want to get bike lanes along Bayview from Eglinton up to Steeles and along Lawrence to the Humber. This isn't a shitpost - how do we get the city to consider adding those lanes?

I don't know about the rest of the city but Bayview and Lawrence is a pretty popular meeting point for cyclists here before heading north. But there's so much chaos with cars who positively drool of the prospect of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.

How can we get both commuters and fitness enjoyers more safe places to bike around in what is likely the hotbed of biking hell.

OWS / Competing with open wounds after a bike fall

I'm sure lots have crashed/fell and competed and I plan to as well but am somewhat concerned about infection with open wounds.

I'm only 1 week post fall and there are 2 that will likely not close ahead of my A-race. What products do people use or do you just no bother and go for broke/deal with it after/start a round of anti-biotics🤣

I was very very lucky and overall very small persisting injuries - just 2-3 cuts that are fairly deep. I have full range of motion etc and while I have some bruising it's healing and I can run and bike and letting those recover. Bike somehow came out really well too - so lucky me and my wallet (humor for triathletes).

Anything those who've fallen recommend using? one will be on arm and abdomen under wetsuit, the other on wrist.

Help with pressure

I'm trying to figure out correct set up for my race wheels but looking at 3 different calculators gets me 3 different results.

For starters I'm using 28mm Conti GP5000s TR running tubeless, using semi-hooked design on Reserve rims (57/64). I've read the conti max pressure is 72psi, and the reserve wheels technical docs say max 100. With bike I'm about 165-170lbs combined.

The Silca calculator says 76 (though cautions hookless is max 72 though I'm semi hooked).

The SRAM one says like 54-56 (hookless to hooked) as does wolfthooth

Vittroria says 62/65 (front back) so i feel like this is all over the map.

I'm also using an older joe blow sport pump which who knows how accurate it is but at 72psi it's certainly firm, whereas in the 50s its pretty soft (but doesn't seem to be flattening under load).

Help? suggestions? tire pressure seems way more complicated than just fill them up til their firm like I do with my kids bikes.

I know there's a ton out there but I don't want to spend a fortune or over complicate things.

I've narrowed it down to 3 around the same price that are fairly easily obtainable (locally).

  1. Zoot Ltd Aero fz

  2. Castelli Sanremo 3

  3. 2XU light speed

Would like to compare contrast in terms of comfort and aerodynamics (who wouldn't?).

I think I can arguably hold 36kmph over a 90km bike. So aero is important but so is comfort there. And obviously the trade off to the run. I will be running like 3:45-3:50/km pace so don't want to be held up too much, but I also don't want to spend $1000 in cad$ on this.
