Abandoned??
First off I have no clue whether these are ducklings or goslings, that is my biggest concern. Our local pond has atleast 25 ducks which a few have babies at the moment, most are small and dark. We did have 2 pairs of geese as of last week but now they’re suddenly gone. We found these little guys sitting in a patch of grass away from the ducks. Research shows that goslings absolutely cannot be on their own and that they stay with their family until grown or even longer.
I’ve confirmed the nearest wildlife rehab center is over 60 miles from me and they want nothing to do with baby’s birds(Oregon btw). Are these ducks that are just waiting for their parents, or are these abandoned geese? Please someone help. I know there’s people around here with bad intentions and I wanna keep these guys safe.
