Feeding

I have a channoides pair and I have no idea if they're eating. They don't look too skinny and using the few posts here for reference they should be just feeding on whatever is in their tank. I've tried different foods and the male will poke at brine shrimp a bit but keep his mouth shut. Would adding a few small feeder shrimp be a good "just in case" ? I'd love any advice on feeding them. I'm also worried about my female because I rarely see her during feeding time but again, she doesn't look malnourished (its hard to see them often in general, the tank hides them too well 😭) regardless I'm just concerned. Tbf it has only been a week since they were added so could that play a part?

betta channoides tank mates?

Have been cycling a 10 gal blackwater and I will likely be getting a betta channoides/pair of them (still deciding, if you have any advice on this lmk too!). I'm unsure of tank mates they can have but there are a couple of snails already in there lol. Would a school of chillis/least/strawberries be okay? or should I just keep them with no other species? I'm not new to fish keeping or bettas but I am new to wild bettas. I had an alien betta a while back and it led me down the rabbithole of wilds 👀 been researching for a good few months so any information I can get my hands on would be greatly appreciated!

How far along are my daughters

They've both been pregnant for a while but I was wondering if it were possible to tell how long more they've got before birth? I did not take note of when I first saw them berried but it's been definitely more than a couple weeks. Could it be possible that they might give birth soon?

9 gal long stocking ideas?

Currently cycling a new 9.5 gal long tank so while waiting I'm just looking for stocking ideas. I've had my fun with all the different types of rasboras, shrimps, and bettas so I'd love some ideas for unique stocking ideas not involving these guys. I did consider killifish and pea puffers but I was wondering if there were any other cool suggestions I could take into consideration. The tank is by my table so I'd also prefer if the fishes aren't the easily startled/scares type as I'd walk by it often. Thanks!

fell from a height :(

Was handling my african giant when a friend kept begging me to let him hold my baby. He's pet him a few times so I thought okay it can't be too bad to let him try. Awful decision, he dropped him because he was too icked out by the sensation of his legs 😶. it was about 3 feet ish? it was on a carpet (I did get into a fight with him over it and from here on out nobody but me is allowed to handle my pede) There was no damage to his exterior at least from what I could see and he only secreted his chemical defense. He also immediately ate when i fed him to calm him down, no unusual movements in his legs too. He climbed onto me and clunged on for dear life ☹️ he was hesitant to get back into his enclosure for a bit. However ever since that night (it's been around a week or so) He's been underground and not eating. He's usually active at night but I've not spotted him even once so I assume he's hiding or molting. Any advice?
