I’m a 52 yr old non smoker woman who has just started a seven day course of amoxicillin to take down the infection I have in my crown. My regular dentist has told me that as the tooth is mainly filling underneath it will be a difficult extraction and has referred me to her senior college who only takes private patients. I wanted to know if any one has experienced removal of a crowned molar, what can I expect and was she right to refer me? Just been given 7 days of amoxicillin as I’ve ended up with an infected molar. The pain is unreal so I’m stressed about how I’m going to cope for the next 10 days before I see a senior dentist with a view to extracting it. What I’m worried about is the dentist told me today because the tooth that is crowned is more filling than tooth, this will be a difficult extraction and recommended the senior private dentist. Has anyone had any experience of having a crowned molar removed as I am incredibly nervous. Thank you
