Recommend me what the RYM canon forgot?

Here are some of my favourite albums that I have been listening to recently. I know a lot of these albums are pretty standard picks and quite popular. That is fine by me, as I think many of these records are beloved for a reason, and other people liking something does not make it less meaningful or enjoyable for me. I have definitely been introduced to some of my favourite artists of all time through RYM and subreddits like this one (king crimson, led zeppelin, charles mingus, talking heads, frank zappa and others not included in my topster). But I love listening to music and am hoping to discover some music that has maybe been overlooked from the RYM canon. I would love to hear some of your recommendations!

Language learning concerns

I’m set to leave for Thailand in January, and I’m really excited. One thing I’m a little worried about, though, is the language aspect. I currently only speak English and do not have much experience learning new languages.

I know that during PST, a large portion of the training is focused on learning Thai, but I was hoping for some clarification about language support after PST ends. Does the Peace Corps continue to provide tutors or other language-learning resources once volunteers are at site, or are volunteers generally expected to continue developing their language skills independently through community immersion and self-study?

I’m also a bit nervous because Thailand has many regional languages. I feel like I would struggle to learn a third language without some kind of teacher or structured support, especially since many regional languages do not have the same level of online resources and educational tools that Central Thai does.

I’ve been considering taking a Thai class over the summer before departure, but I’ve heard mixed advice about studying the language ahead of time. What would you all recommend?

Hi Ladies,

I am in search of a good OBGYN who is quite gentle. I am a couple of years overdue to get a pap smear 🥲 and have suspected endometriosis. I have had some really painful pap smears and examinations in the past. So I want someone who can make it as painless as possible. Thanks for any recommendations.
