If Inbetweeners came back for another time.

Recently as we all know the Inbetweeners were bought, with a potential of a coming back for the 4 boys. So I wondered how they would be shown so here is what I think.

I would focus on coming of age issues that are age related.

.Simon is getting married

. Neil has 7 children with an older women. He can't remember the name of the children.

. Will believe he has failed at life most of his life goals have not been reached. He works a mundane job but will be Simons best man. He has no girlfriend and lives at home with him mum and Mr Gilbert.

. Jay is an electrician but acts like Billy big bollocks and boast how much money he is earning and pussy he having sex with. Jays girlfriend is a swinger who he is unaware of although he misses the obvious sighns. They are going through a divorce.

The 4 go on a road trip in America for Simon's stag doo

Historically accurate Odyssey trailer

Historically accurate Odyssey trailer

Firstly I find it kind of weird talking about accuracy when it comes to a fictional story that has giants in it, but here we go.

Demon flying fox who normally does AI videos of Harry Potter in Berlin, tried his attempt at a reimagining of Nolans Trailer.

So I thought I would crit the historical accuracy of it

I think Demon Flying fox has done a decent attempt with accuracy but there are still some errors here. I used to mod Total war computer games focussing on the classical era but I am not so familiar with the bronze age. So correct me if I am wrong. Oh and anyone who is an expert on cinematograph please crit this trailer as I am not a film buff. Please feel free to add anything.

The armour is accurate but for me the armour weapons and shields are too standardised. In the ancient period you had to pay for your own armour and weapons. Meaning that standards of armour and weapons varied widely. The tower shields depicted in this trailer all have the same design. Historically shield design depended on the individual as well other factors meaning that each soldier's shield design was different.

Odessaeus is seen wearing a purple cloak. These were maybe worn to keep the wearer warm. However any battle reenactor will tell you it gets in the way when you try and fight. So in all likelihood Odessaeus would not have worn it when in battle.

The Tyreme used is from the wrong period. They did not have Tyremes in the bronze age. They also rowing the boat the wrong way round. To row a Tyreme used have to face the rear of the boat.

Is there anything you would add.

Argentina to be investigated

Just in Argentina football are going to be investigated for their conduct in the world cup.

Last week, FIFA appointed a disciplinary and ethics prosecutor to assess what happened after the final whistle at the Metlife Stadium, with multiple Argentina players and backroom staff involved in altercations with Spain players following their 1-0 loss in the final.

FIFA will investigate Argentina players Nahuel Molina (two counts) Leandro Paredes (three counts), Argentina assistant coach Roberto Ayala (one count) Thiago Almada (one count) and Spain midfielder Gavi (one count)

for alleged assault under article 14 of FIFA's disciplinary code.

Argentina FA are also facing charges of breaking article 13, 14, 15 & 17. Using a Football event for demonstrations of a political nature, dIscrimination and racist abuse, (team) misconduct, and breaching order and security at matches.

Realistic Ancient Greeks

I understand realistically. The argument against that is that no one in the film's race is correct. Hollywood often uses Northern European actors to play the Greeks. In Ancient Greek art and literature it depicts a range of skin tones (which may be for artistic effect) it also important that the ancient Greeks did not view race in the same way we do. Applying contemporary racial categories such as "White" or "Black" to ancient Greeks is misleading. The Greeks did not categorize people based on skin color as modern societies do. Their identity was more closely tied to language, culture, and shared history.

The non accurate crowd will often use the argument that Hellen has “smooth” or “pale/white” arms. This can be argued away that though out most of history untill recently pale skin was seen as beautiful, Hellen was supposed to a traditionally beautiful women as according to ancient Greek standards.

Would the character of Hellen been depicted as Black African. Most certainly not, just as the Achaeans would not have been depicted as nowhern European.

I feel like most arguments that utilise the not accurate argment are being argued from a bases of feelings not on what the person subjectively thought of the film.

I hope this argument comes across as measured.

Realistic Ancient Greeks

I fear I may be opening a can of worms with this argument on why the desire for some to have historical accuracy for the Iliad film is nonsensical .

I find the argument by people criticising the film as not being historically accurate rather nonsensical as first it's a fictional story but secondly the way Bronze age Greece has been shown by Hollywood historically has not been accurate at all.

The Tiffany effect comes into fruition when ancient Greece is mentioned. The Tiffany Effect refers to the phenomenon where historical names, terms, or practices seem modern and anachronistic to contemporary audiences, even though they are historically accurate. This often leads to misconceptions about the past, as people project their modern understanding onto historical contexts.

For starters we always represent bronze age Greece through our understanding of classical Greece. The armour worn by warriors was not Hoplite but looks more akin to wearing a segmented dust bin, horses were not so large so could not support a man so chariots were used and if the paintings of konosos are to be believed women walked round with exposed chests, which I can't imagine any film studio signing off on.

The exponents of the not realistic argument would state the race of Hellen has not been shown realistically. The argument against that is that no one in the film's race is correct. Hollywood often uses Northern European actors to play the Greeks. In Ancient Greek art and literature it depicts a range of skin tones (which may be for artistic effect) it also important that the ancient Greeks did not view race in the same way we do. Infantino corruption charges

Infantino will be investigated by the IOC on 5 counts of corruption. He is also going to be investigated by the EU. There has been some alleged history of corruption by Infantino In 2017 Infantino allegedly may have tried to bribe a Swiss official. In 2016 Infantino sacked Investigators investigating his alleged corruption after he was named in the Panama papers and replaced them with his own in-house investigators. They found no evidence of corruption. Do you think these investigations will change anything.
