How much has people went with

Hi Everyone,

I understand this is an open-ended question as it very much depends on:

● PROVINCE - ONTARIO, ALBERTA, BC

● JOB OFFER

● RENTING OR ROOMSHARING

But, how much CAD did you go to Canada on?

I'm thinking of trying to go with $19,000 - $25,000 to ensure financial stability. I feel anything less than $12,000 and your maybe gonna be struggling real fast

Anyone specifically who moved to Ontario, Toronto how much did you go with?

Finding Accommodation

Good evening everyone!

I need help with understanding the following:

○ How long on average do people usually rent an Air B'N'B for when first arriving? .......

○ Once in the temp Air BN'B, how long have people found it took to get a lease on a condo or appt in Toronto......

○ I have bad credit in the UK, I know Credit sharing from the UK does not transfer to Canada, so how have people navigated this hurdle? ......

○ A landlord I spoke with in TO via email, said he would be hesitant to rent to a newcomer with no current employment, even with 3-6 months upfront. Has anyone faced this challenge, and if so what was your outcome?

** Any help preferably from those who have done an IEC or currently on one, or with qualified knowledge of this is appreciated**

Moving to Toronto - April 27

Hi everyone, I hope you can help with the following as I am moving from Scotland to Canada in April 2027

I need advice on the following:

● E-sim providers - I wish to apply for jobs in Canada from the UK, however, from what I hear its easier for employers and recruitment agencies to call you if you have a canadian mobile/cell number already. Can you send links to sites I can do this?

● Rentals - I have currently 6 months rent saved in CAD and as I will not have credit or at this stage (Payslips or contract of employment), how do people navigate this hurdle?

● Credit score - My Uk credit score becomes irrelevant, so how have people built up credit along the way

Any help is appreciated

Coming to TO next week and want a car hire from Turo for 23rd July from 08:30 to 16:30. Just wanna know following as i'm coming from the UK

Say I pick car up from near airport from Turo renter, what is the best route to take to to get to Niagra. I could just let Google maps tell me, but local knowledge is best

● Also, right turn on red, is this permissible in canada like the states. In UK we don't have such rules

Is North York to Far out to Stay while visiting Toronto??

Hi, I am heading to Toronto for first time from the UK and I can't find an Air BnB or hotel near downtown, old toronto etc for cheaper than £1,170 for four nights $2,209 (22nd July).

I can however find good, reputable hotels for 50% less £577 $****£1081 in North York. I don't mind getting an uber to downtown for sightseeing etc or if there are any Metro lines nearby.

Any help is appreciated
