Is India the place to go for scar treatment

This study has amazing results and it’s so basic
Grade 3 and 4 acne scaring was treated with subscision, dermaroller and 15% tca as well as 0.05 Tret
1 year later results were still there and the study was in 2014. Why are we still so behind if they achieved 70-100%

[Product Question] grainy finacea aezelic acid

[Product Question]

Hey everyone, I’ve used finacea azelaic acid 15% for years. My recent tube finished so I bought a new one and the formula was so grainy and weird. I remember seeing a post about it I’m wondering if they changed the formula or if it was a bad batch?

Considering laser hair removal on side burns

Hey everyone, I have peach fuzz on my side burns that really bothers me. Iv waxed it before and had it threaded a couple of times. I’m not consistently bc I usually break out

For context I’m middle eastern, skin IV, acne prone, I use a lot of actives to keep my acne at bay including benzoyl peroxide daily, tret 0.025, aezelic acid

I’m willing to stop that for a week or 2 before the session

Idk if I have pcos I haven’t been diagnosed with it but my bloods always come back normal despite having wild symptoms. Anyway, I really want to do it on my face bc it rlllly bothers me esp in some lighting iv been told I have a beard even tho it’s just some bum fluff :/// . But I’m afraid it will stimulate to the point where It becomes so much hairier, thicker and grows quicker

I have been doing laser on my body for years with no issue, I’m no new comer to laser iv been doing it for years consistently / every 4-6 weeks so Idm the maintenance since I’m going anyways I’m just scared that it’ll come back with vengeance like crazy thick and I’ll have to be plucking and developing thick hairs and having to pluck.

I will say I do have 1 black hair on my neck that grows either every 2-3 days or sometimes it disappears for a couple of weeks. And I have 1 small hair on my chin. I pluck these 2 but they don’t bother me at all

I want to do my side burns, upper lip, and possibly nostrils? (I need to read more about that)
Tbh I rlly wanna do my whole face from my lashes down lol but I’ll be more conservative and stick to the places where hair is visible. I have added pics of what my hair looks like. Please give me your advice ❤️

Acne rx book? Why did it take so long to come across it

Iv been dealing with skin issues for 10 years
I saw a couple of tiktok videos about acne rx recently and decided to look into it, bc suffering with skin issues for 10 years feels like there isn’t a thing I haven’t read.

First of all the book was so difficult to access, I was only able to access the first edition which is very old but reading it felt like it was written so recently. I have never felt so validated for the way I felt about my skin, i feel like they were so thorough with the info. After 2 accutane attempts and the acne coming back - their protocol was the only thing that has stopped my persistent acne.

It’s like their legacy died when the authors passed away? They spent their life studying acne and scarring I don’t understand what happened like did no one continue their research after they passed did it just end with them. It’s been so hard for me to find some insight on this. For anyone who has read their book idk if it’s just me but I felt as if it was so validating, thorough and advanced for its time. And to think about how far off we are in healing acne scars just confused me.

I have grade 3 scaring and the road is so unclear. It affects me daily. Sometimes I think the only road is acceptance. There’s so much leeway for mistakes when it comes to treating acne scars it seems. Subscision? Facial sagging. Laser? Hyper/ hypopigmentation. Microneedling? Minimal results. RF microneedling? Minimal results + fat loss risk. Tca cross? Big holes left in your face. Plasma fibroblast? A hand held device relying on hand eye coordination burning tiny holes in ur face? Clearly my brain was egg shells when I did that treatment bc every burn hole that fell off left a hole behind it what a surprise. Ty heavy handed aesthetician
Going to Korea?? Apparently their speciality is not acne scaring. Few drs in Aus specialise in acne scarring and it’s a weird monopoly that I wouldn’t even want to be apart of at this point.. 90-100% improvement from 1 posts on the Philippines and the guy doesn’t share where he went or who treated him but he answered every other question. Fitzpatrick skin type above II. Good luck? Anyway that’s my thoughts I’m feeling really hopeless and frustrated with this today. If there is a treatment that will work I’ll pay any money and fly to any country to get it done that will fix this. Also tbh I wish I had stayed on accutane and avoided persistent acne. Had I known it would leave these scars and scars are so hard to treat I would have stayed on that medication and never got off idc if my bones turned green and disintegrated I think.

My experience at Urepublic and Complete dermatology Bondi

Hi everyone, iv been on my acne scar journey for a while, trying to find help in these subs and through reviews. One name kept coming up consistently: Dr Adrian Lim - I learned that there’s only a handful of skilled professionals who can successfully treat acne scars in Australia.

I tried to book with him but was advised he is not taking new patients, the receptionist assured me his colleagues are equally experienced, I asked for someone experienced in skin of colour as I’m a Fitzpatrick skin type IV and they booked me in with Patricia low

I waited 8 months for my appointment, I was hopeful and excited. During the consultation she was harsh, she referred to my skin as “deformed” and said it would never be normal again. These comments did upset me and affected me a lot.. having a dermatologist refer to my skin as deformed was tough.

Then she recommended I do radio frequency micro-needling and began to send me out of her office. Out of curiosity as I was leaving I asked her why she recommended this treatment instead of a series of chemical peels and lasers she snapped at me saying “I don’t know what line of work you’re in but not you or anybody else on the internet can make me do a treatment on someone that I think is unsuitable” and closed the door behind me.
I was so confused and baffled I didn’t understand why she became so hostile and her random comment about the internet.

I was friendly during our consultation even after she referred to my skin in ways no dermatologist should. She made me feel really horrible about my skin. I left the office crying. I was later encouraged to write an email to the reception sharing my experience. The manager Francesca called me the next day saying they will refund me, I said I’d like to see Dr Adrian Lim instead but she Insisted that they could not meet my expectations. I was really confused I didn’t understand at what point this became about expectations. They gave me the refund and I moved on. This was in October 2024

Fast forward to this month, June 2026. I seen a dermatologist regarding a seperate issue, she noticed my acne scars and suggested I see Dr Adrian Lim or his colleague Anita Patel, I called urepublic and booked an appointment with the receptionist to see Anita Patel in December - a little later I was phoned by the manager Francesca saying it was a mistake and my appointment has been canceled because “they cannot meet my expectations”

Patricia referred to me as deformed and snapped at me

Francesca says “Dr Patricia low is highly regarded and would never say that to any of her patients”

She canceled my appointment and said they have a right to refuse me services and to look somewhere else.

So I booked with Anita Patel at Complete Dermatology In Bondi. I was hopeful and looking forward to my appointment. 2 weeks after I booked it the reception calls me and says Anita Patel has decided not to see me and that my appointment has been canceled due to “not being able to meet my expectations”

I understand clinics have the right to refuse service, but I am struggling to understand why I am effectively being denied access to dermatological care after raising concerns about how I was treated. My original complaint was that I felt insulted and dismissed during a consultation. Since then, appointments with both URepublic and an unrelated practice Complete Dermatology have been cancelled on the basis that they “cannot meet my expectations.”

I genuinely don’t know what expectations they believe I have. this experience has left me worried about seeking further care. I feel anxious that other specialists may also decline to see me because I shared my experience with the staff at Urepublic.

The photos iv posted is my skin during the time I seen her which she referred to as deformed
