I made my first faux arrangements!

Really proud of how these came out! I repurposed some florals from a chaotic Facebook marketplace find and added these stunning orange hydrangeas to the mix, and they came out so perfect! These will be our aisle markers. I got the pots from Home Depot and I like them more than I expected to lol. Sorry the pics are dark, I was too excited to wait till morning for good pics lol

First bouquet practice for my DIY Wedding florals

I’m having so much fun with this! All the dahlias and zinnias are from my garden, roses from Trader Joe’s and statice from the local farmers market. Second two pics are from a video of me rotating it to get the 360° view, lol. Tried to design it so the big stellar dahlia is in the “front” but it should still look nice all around. Theres a bit of a “hole” under the two orange spray roses in pic 3 I wish I had filled in, but overall I’m quite happy with it for my first attempt at a bouquet!! Any suggestions on how to do even better next time? :)

What fabric should I use to recreate this arch draping?

I’m in love with this draping! I want to recreate it over our arbor for the ceremony, I just haven’t figured out what fabric to use (or where to get it, but that’s easier once I figure out what I need lol.) I don’t want it to be sheer, ideally. Anyone have suggestions? Would be so appreciated!

Dahlia favorites the last couple weeks!

I’m OBSESSED with Islander (slides 1-3)! I got her from Ducks & Dahlias (if you see this thank you!!) and she absolutely did not disappoint! This is the first bloom, her second is close behind, and WOW😍

  1. Ketchup & Mustard
  2. AC white rabbit
  3. Tanner Joe
  4. Bonnke
  5. Peaches n Cream
  6. Kelgai Ann
  7. Strawberries & Cream
  8. Bloomquist Blush
  9. Jowey Winnie
  10. Hollyhill Daydream (AMAZING! So prolific and gorgeous, absolutely worth the hype)
  11. Hollyhill Pinkie
  12. A La Mode (gorgeous but struggling in my dry 9B heat 😭)
  13. Olivia Marie
  14. Kelgai Ann (again! Last year I got a bad one and got late, terrible blooms with pitiful stems. This year I replaced her and she’s prolific and gorgeous 💖)
  15. Bloomquist Jody Lynn (I think, mislabel from last year that I kept cuz she’s strong and lovely even if not what I wanted lol)
  16. RM Lure
  17. Bracken Palomino (mine is getting ravaged by powdery mildew right now but her blooms are huge and gorgeous!)

I found my dress! But not sure what size to get. If I get the size they have in stock, can I have a corset added to make it fit me?

The dress is so close, but I need one size up. I love the corset look, so can I have one added to this dress design? Will the button beads get in the way? Is there enough room? I can’t bring it to alterations until I buy it, so I need advice!

Should I get the ballgown?

I’m trying to decide if I should buy the first dress. I had thought I found my dress (second dress which I still love!) and was thrilled with it, but the last dress I tried on at the bridal shop the next day really blew me away— it feels more regal and bridal and I can’t stop thinking about it since Friday. BUT it’s much more than I expected to spend on a dress, especially since I already have one, which I would still keep to wear for the reception. But spending thousands on a dress I’d wear for a few hours on one day feels insane 😅 But I do have the funds, it wouldn’t put me in debt or anything, but it would put us over our goal wedding budget. It just feels wildly irresponsible and I’ve been wrestling with it for days :( Do you think it’s worth it? Or should I stick to the dress I already have that I know I like?

(Please don’t base it entirely on my smile or something like that, the first dress pics are mostly all candids of me contemplating how much i unexpectedly love the dress and the second dress pics are from excitedly trying it on for the first time after i waited weeks in the mail for it lol, so just very different situations)
