so i’m buying my first electric guitar, as i plan on learning jazz, as well as applying for a jazz university this year. i need to find an amp as soon as possible, because i’m going to try out a used ibanez artcore in two days, and the seller said they no longer have an amp, so i should bring mine. i was planning on buying a new amp (preferably a small one, and budget friendly but good for it’s price.) but i know nothing about amps and would like some recommendations. what amps work well for jazz tone? i was thinking of ordering one online so that it arrives as soon as possible.
another option i just found out about is mini amps. i thought to just buy one, just to try out the guitar, and then return it and buy an actual good amp.

hey everyone! i am a classically trained guitarist, currently in my first year of bachelor. i have been playing guitar for about 4-5 years, and have recently understood that being a strictly classical musician is not the right path for me. i want to have a lot more freedom expressing myself, and i feel like i would have the space to do that if i were to change my major into jazz guitar. i know it’s a really big change, but i am willing to do it, as i don’t want to spend the rest of my life always feeling unfulfilled.
thing is, i have 0 jazz experience or knowledge, i just really enjoy the music obviously (bossa nova is one of my favorite genres) and i want to apply for jazz school in germany next year in march (that means i have to learn all the necessary theory and techniques, as well as buy a suited instrument). now my question is, how realistic is this? if i don’t make it next year, i can definitely try again the other year, but i just want to know where exactly should i start, what awaits etc, etc. whatever information you think would be helpful is welcome!

I have been looking all over for a CD of Luiz Bonfa’s Introspection album, and I cannot find it anywhere (physical and online shops). I only found a marketplace where they sold it for 150+ €. What is the deal with this album, can someone enlighten me? And if anyone knows where to find it, please let me know, as i would reallyyy love to have it :) thanks
