Sword and Sorcery without the sword?

Is it possible to have S&S without the sword/barbarian/warrior character?

I was wondering if it is possible to make S&S where the main characters are all magic wielders? Whether this is Harry Potter/Classical D&D wizard spells or Conan/cosmic horror style sorcery is up for debate.

Does anyone know of any existing examples? I realise Elric of Melniboné might be in this camp, but he still has Stormbringer.

WOW & FaA, great adaptations of a book that doesn't exist?

Okay this is a weird idea but hear me out.

A lot of people have said how Avatar 2 and 3 aren't perfect (especially A3). Some parts of the films feel slow while others are rushed, plot beats are kind of brushed over, world building is just thrown at the audience and some characters serve little narrative point. These criticisms are often more aimed at A3.

But what if there is a weird reason for that.

I remembered Cameron talking about how he hopes the sequels become a new sci-fi Lord of the Rings, and suddenly I'm wondering if this is the reason why the films are like this. Like the Peter Jackson LOTR's trilogy they are an adaptation of the grand vision in Cameron's head. As Jackson cut Tom Bombadil Cameron has had to cut out bits of his grand story to the point to make a workable script which has left things a little unbalanced.

I'm not sure if this is how it actually happened (though a novelisation would be very welcome) but it's an interesting way of looking at the sequels.

Feeling compelled to go for a turret heavy loadout?

Does anyone else feel compelled to go with a full turret loadout plus a support weapon?

Like yes I know there are lots of other tools in the sandbox to try out but so often it feels like that without the firepower of three turrets we would be overrun when holding an objective.

Does anyone else feel like this?
