THE best sub 600 laptop (over the air M2 AND neo) : 2021 Macbook pro m1 pro 14inch
Wanted to make this post for the (maybe small amount) of individuals deciding between the M1 pro 14, macbook Air M2, or the macbook neo (all being around 500-600 used)

Purchased my 16gb 512gb MacBook Pro M1 14inch with 84% Bh for 550
Genuinely blows pretty much all windows and other laptops out of the water, gorgeous screen speakers pretty much everything
Despite being pretty much 5 years old at this point, it’s still a beast for basically everything the average user needs
the biggest “con” that was described to me when looking was software support, but support will end at pretty much 2030-31 for security updates included, which is still plenty of time, even more lifetime then out of the average windows machine, and even after then still plenty usable
Why over the Neo? Experience, while the macbook neo may have more single core performance and in general newness, these pretty much compare to barely anythjng in day to day use, what you will definitely notice is the miles better screen(Mini LED 3k 120hz panel, the (best i’ve heard from a laptop yet) speakers, and general build quality of the macbook pro the chip paired with the base config of 16gb of ram (double the neo) and storage at 512gb is still plenty snappy and usable
Why over the Air M2? the price for a similar spec air with 16gb of ram AND 512gb of storage in the used market is severely overprice (nearing 650-700 total in the uk market at least)
battery life still lasts very well despite the aging battery health, average 6-8 hours which considering the budget most likely means you’ve come from a windows laptop, which once again is destroyed by this
Overall very happy with this laptop just wanted to give some guidance as i could barely find any at all for this particular situation
