Housing fell through

Hi All - there was an issue with the place I had planned to rent out for the year and now I am looking for housing 2 weeks before the school year starts. Spare me the snarky comments because I've read them all. I have registered temporarily (briefadres) with a friend, and will be staying with another friend until around october. Do you think I'll be able to find something in Amsterdam in that time, if I start agressively looking now? The thing I'm noticing is that there are less options now than when I was looking like 3 months ago. Any crazy unhinged tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have enough in my savings to pay for a room at the social hub which seems to be available still but that's an absolute last resort.

[Looking] Female, 29, MSc student at VU Amsterdam — looking for room/studio from mid-August (1 year)

Hi everyone! I'm Nora, an American in Amsterdam completing my MSc in Global Health at VU Amsterdam. I'm looking for a room or studio from around August 1st until August 2027.

A bit about me: I work part-time at two places (research intern by day, gelato by evening 🍦) so I keep structured hours and genuinely value a calm, tidy home. I'm easy to live with, respectful of shared spaces, and not a party person. Non-smoker. I can provide a guarantor if needed.

Budget: up to ~€1,300 all-in ideally, flexible for the right place.

Areas I love: Amsterdam Oost, Zuid, Centrum, De Pijp, West but open to other neighbourhoods with good transport links. I currently live in the Bijlmer so anywhere around there is nice as long as it's close to the station.

Registration at the address is important for me.

If you have something or know someone, please DM me! Happy to introduce myself properly and arrange a viewing quickly.

Thanks 🙏
