Since everyone is hangover from the policies drama...

I'm just gonna show off a silly logo I created for my story and break the curse 🤟 Then you tell me if it's worth your attention. Love it or hate it but it was quite fun to develop.... [drumroll..... 🥁 ]

OFFICIAL TINDENT LOGO

It's a silly app I made up as a side story but I'm wondering if I should dive more into it in future chapters, I see lots of potential for both spicy and ridiculous situations 🔥 😂

What do you think? Should I give it more attention? Or just let it ☠️ as a stupid joke?

New subreddit suddenly showing "prohibited" message

Hello! So I am a toddler mod, my new subreddit was about 7 days old when suddenly after I approved a new member the whole thing shut down. I cannot enter it (neither the mod tools nor the subreddit), as it shows a message stating it's "prohibited" - does that mean that it got banned?

But if it did, shouldn't it show me a link to appeal that, or some reasons, or some explanation? I honestly don't know what happened. My account seems fine. I was on desktop.

I had set rules, it was meant to be a very friendly community. I suspect it could be related to that user I approved, maybe it was suspicious or something?

I am really confused as for what to do. Thank you in advance for help.

Update on the content guidelines

I entered Wattpad and found this notification. I checked them, however, I can't tell what's exactly new about it. Anyone knows?

https://preview.redd.it/fuahgo9bynih1.png?width=507&format=png&auto=webp&s=7d920ad89a156b42424f1833407972c603a26503

It's very neatly organized though: what's allowed in the general category, what should go to the "Mature" one, and what's strictly banned. But I don't know if there is any new policy to be mindful about, other than stating openly they will take down stories infringing their policy, but that's not new.

A quote from the end of their article:

>Tell your story, but do it responsibly.
We support creative freedom, but not at the expense of safety, respect, or community well-being.

Writer's burnout

I think it's something all of us feel occasionally. I'd like to share a couple tips I gained from experience, as someone who's been writing for a long time. Maybe some of you can find it useful? Feel free to add your ideas and experiences to this post.

1) Identify the source. It's not the same to feel burnout due to the writing process itself than from lack of motivation or external factors. Identifying the cause helps you finding a relief or solution.

1.1) External factors: a bad comment, lack of feedback, lack of support, physical discomfort, personal distress, constant distractions, life's shit happening... And many others. If you wonder why you are feeling that tired and demotivated when you sit down to write, or your body plainly refuses to do so... Do some thinking and check what's going on with your life, how it's making you feel right now. Can you accept it? Can you change it? Can you avoid it? Or just wait until it's over...?

1.2) Internal factors: writing for very long periods of time, getting stuck at a specific part because we're unsure if that's how we want it to go, perfectionism, too high expectations, social media related stress, self-induced pressure regarding deadlines or posting regularly... All related to how your own writing makes you feel. When you're dealing with these, I can assure you some self-love and acknowledgement help a lot. Writing can be as tough a job as any, but since we do it with passion and many feelings involved, we forget it can take its toll on us too.

2) Cut down Social Media. Whatever the cause, shutting down all social media for 24 hours or more always helps. We aren't always aware of how much energy and time it consumes, and when that energy is returned to us, inspiration often comes along after a proper rest.

3) Do some other type of creative activity. Instead of pushing yourself to write more, try something else you enjoy doing. Cooking pastries, drawing, gardening, playing an instrument, building a cat house made of toilet paper... Whatever suits you. Your brain will be reminded that creativity is fun and a way of resting too, and that helps with burnout and with writer's block.

4) Rest. Active resting or passive resting, it's up to you and your needs. But if you're feeling burned out... 99% of the times, you do need some rest. And possibly a small adjustment to your routine, so you can prevent (sometimes) future cases.

That's all I can think for now. I hope you find it helpful. Let's give each other some support ❤️

~Hugs~

Anyone knows what happened to the 8CC by JustWriteIt?

Hi, I only learned last week the 8-chapter-challenge (March-April) was discontinued, somehow despite being quite active I missed the notification (if there was any?).

And it honestly got me a bit upset, because it was the first time ever I was participating in one of their challenges and I worked pretty hard to get it done on time. I sent them a message but never got a reply. Not only that, but I refrained from correcting those chapters as not to mess up the publishing date, as they recommend.

I guess I'm looking for any explanation, if anyone knows. I don't think I'll ever participate again in those, kind of lost my trust 😢

Romantasy, slowburn, vampiros, drama, comedia

How specific and down-to-detail are you as a writer?

Hi fellow writers ❤️
We all know how important details are for improved quality. I'm sure most of you spend considerable time researching or planning those little things. Even those that go completely unnoticed!! Like, literally, nobody cares but you!

I just googled the exact position on the map where I had placed my character, in order to make sure what angle was sunrise light falling on him 🙄

Let's acknowledge our little obsessions and give ourselves some credit for it!

What are those details you put some effort into but nobody will ever know?

Two of your characters end up on a deserted island... [continue the story]

Do you feel like doing a writing exercise? 😄

Imagine that two of your characters end up on a deserted island. Pick up one of the following scenarios and continue the story!

a) They run out of food quickly so they need to find another way to feed themselves, and...

b) They decide to chill out as they await a slow hopeless death, but then...

c) They hear a singing walrus from a cave in the mountains and they go check it out...

d) They believe they are the last ones on Earth and wonder if interspecies breeding could actually be succesful, so...

e) They are in fact mortal enemies so at first they plan on killing each other, until...

f) (Any other option of your liking!)

Be creative!! 🔥 Do your best putting a few sentences together, and as a prize, drop the link to your novel at the end of your comment :)
No explanations needed - people are more likely to click on your work if they see your amazing talent first ❤️

Let's read each other! 👀

What makes you believe in your own story?

What makes you believe your story is good? Other than people's feedback.

So I am preparing the next chapter to be released tomorrow. It's a very strong chapter, the cherry on top of the cake, the last chapter of part 1 in my book. And here I am, with total grandeur delirium, reading, correcting, a chill down my spine, and thinking: "This is GOOD".

And while a part of me wonders if I'm losing my mind, another is pretty sure you all know what I'm talking about 😂

The chapter mentioned above, I had pictured it for a very long time and it came out better than expected.

🔥 Be honest. Do you relate? What is it about your writing that gives you hope and makes you proud?

My readers watching romance finally coming closer... before they get the shock of their lives

Oh, they are gonna suffer.

Question: adding new parts to ongoing story

Hi! Would anyone kindly show me how to add a new part to an ongoing story, but previous to the published chapter?

For example: after writing a few chapters you decide to include a prologue. How to do that? I could not find a way to rearrange chapters.

Thanks in advance!

Writing & Feelings

How do you feel when you're writing a tough scene? Are you able to finish in one go? Can you remain an objective watcher?

Hi writers! These questions popped up in my head during the last week, as I finished writing a rather difficult chapter. I wrote it, then I translated it, and then I edited both. I had to approach it in 4 different days because I felt it was too much.

I found out that I connect very deeply with my characters, regardless of if I like them or not. I don't want them to suffer 😅 But sh*t is meant to happen, in books and in real life, so it's unavoidable to face some drama.

I realized I turn to comedy or silly things in order to balance the heavy parts (and restore my mental health).

How do you deal with it?

Let's play a little writing game

Tell us what your story is about in a few lines, but do it from the antihero perspective. A mean side character, the "bad guys", whoever is frowning upon your hero's adventure.

What do they have to say about your book?

Want to try? 👀 It's a fun writing exercise and a different perspective to your promo, links can be provided upon request!

***
I'll begin, as an example 😁

Adan, the heroine's older brother: "So Dalia and Janik think this this their story, but it's not. There is a freaking vampire rebellion coming that I will be dealing with while they get all Twilight on each other. And I don't even care about politics! But seriously: what kind of best friend hooks up with your sister? And why do all women hate me?"

Am I the only one losing sleep just thinking about my story?

It's xxxx a.m. and my eyes are wide open, staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep. I say "Ok, let's relax" and a few seconds later my mind shouts: "OH THAT'S IT!! Those two characters need to fall in love. Secret, intense love. Yep".

Back to relaxing... "Right, so when do I make the vampire b**ch come in? It has to be bloody. Hmm... But bloody sexy, or bloody flying bananas?"

Keep staring at the ceiling, smiling like an idiot, ridiculously excited about my own story...

(Refraining myself from getting up to write [...]) > FAILED.

Anyone also losing sleep? 😂

You don't know what it's like to live with a vampire 🦇❤️ Fantasy drama & romcom

Hi~ I'd love some feedback on my new story, on Sunday chapter 10 will be out and I'm excited about that.

The story is still in its early stages (picture Hermione taking out "History Of Magic" kind of early stages, as it's already over 40k words 😅🤭), but going well, I believe. I really hope someone leaves some feedback, so I can know for sure.

Link on Wattpad: To Live With a Vampire

When Dalia, devastated by her father's death, is left all alone, her long-lost brother Adan returns to be her legal guardian, but... he's turned into a vampire. A secret that worsens their already strained relationship, to the point where their animosity puts their lives in danger.

Having no other choice than to leave his sister and return to Castellum Academy, Adan asks his best friend to look after her until he finds a new guardian. But to Dalia's misfortune, Janik is also a vampire, and not just any vampire. He is one of the academy's founders, a leading advocate for progressive vampire laws in the region, and consequently, a prime target of the opposing movement known as "The Resistance." Living with him will change everything Dalia thought she knew about vampires, about the world, and... everything she thought she knew about love.

A dark event puts an end to their relationship before it can truly begin. Years later, Dalia and Janik meet again, caught in the middle of an underground battle.
