Welcome home, 4 month old boy (no name yet!) 💔🩵

Hi everyone, officially welcoming this 4-month old boy - name tbd (if you have any ideas, please let me know! Right now thinking Oliver/olive/ollie, Graham/grammy, Chance/chancey). I lost my soul dog pup, an 11 yo Maltese named Piper, from heart disease on 6/3/26, and this pup was born on 6/7/26. I miss my girl all the time everyday, more than words can say, and lots of mixed feelings bringing this boy home. He’s sweet and trouble, and I pray some of my girl is in him (and that he is nicer to and stops chasing the cats… 🤞 ). Last two pics are of my best girl 💔… a love I was so lucky to have and wouldn’t trade for the world. She taught me what unconditional love was from and for both of us, from our first days up until the absolute hardest at the end. We’re so lucky to have these babies in this world. 🩷. If you have any thoughts about naming him, I’d be grateful to hear!

Missing my girl

I lost my most beloved and precious soul pup, my 11 year old Maltese named Piper, 7 weeks ago yesterday. She was my entire world, and I miss her all day every day. She was in CHF and the vet said he couldn’t believe how hard she fought to stay on this side, and I would’ve done anything possible to keep her here if she could’ve been comfortable. Her heart was too enlarged and failing from every angle, which made sense, of course her heart was so large when she all love. Hug and kiss your little babies a little tighter tonight for us. 🩷

Meet Blue!

I lost my soul dog 7 weeks ago yesterday, and everyday since I’ve begged for her to find me again in this lifetime. I was painting a memorial plaque for her outside in the backyard and a cat jumped on the chair next to me, put his paw on my hand that was painting, and came in my lap.

Took him to the vet to check him out — no microchip, very skinny, and had fleas. I posted in lost cat groups across apps, no one came forward. He is the most gentle, grateful, FLUFFY little guy (estimate is ~1 yo) and the size of his paws and fluff are growing everyday.

I’ve had Blue now for exactly two weeks, and he sleeps on top of me every night, puts his paws on my mouth (?), wants to cuddle as close as possible during naps/bedtime, and perhaps most sweetly, he often has at least part of his body near or touching the ashes box of my beloved pup (it stays in bed with me, in the spot where she slept every night). 🩷
