i have a chronic illness and i’ve struggled with my mental health for some years now.

recently i’ve started feeling really alone because this situation i’m living with made me isolate more and more, and yesterday I could feel the depression creeping in again: my mood was really bad and so were my thoughts.

today seemed to be the same, and even though I’m not a religious person, I did ask for a sign. Nothing particular happened, except my mom made me notice that outside my window’s garden something was standing 1 meter away from my bed where I was laying in: a bird that’s been hurt.

i didn’t even know what bird it was, so I just took a picture and asked for the symbolism of it and what came out really surprised me: “…derived from the biblical tradition, in the story of the Great Flood, the dove returns to Noah with an olive branch, marking the end of divine wrath and the return of peace.”

i felt the urge to help this bird and i tried to feed it and make it drink and suddenly it took a leap and was able to go stand up the wall that couldn’t reach just a few minutes before.

this might be silly but the fact that two broken creatures were standing so close to each other in the exact moment that I’ve asked for a sign, was something really spiritual to me about taking a leap even when we’re hurting.
