I just picked this up in Japan! It was on a sale and a family member who’s into watches saw this one and recommended it. He knew I was looking for a Seiko diver.

I was originally looking for a blue one, or the new one with the white background, but I think this one looks better than I expected. I really like that it comes with GMT as a plus. I live in Japan and my family is in the US, so it helps a lot.

What do you all think? I kind of feel bad because it was a tad bit expensive, but maybe it’s worth it if I use it for a long time. It definitely looks better than wearing an Apple Watch. I might save for a while to get a Grand Seiko in the future :).

I’m starting a new job soon; I’m a navy veteran and the job is a contracting job with the Navy where I’ll go on a lot of ships. I want to start off looking great and professional. I’ve always liked the ocean too, I might start actually scuba diving soon; I’ve gone snorkeling a few times and I love it. I want something to remind me of happy memories and be an extension of my personality while I’m having a stressful day. Also, I know how much people judge you on your appearance, so obviously I want to appear put together.

I’ve had a citizen tachometer for a little bit, and I never use the tachometer. I think the diver’s bezel will be useful for me to manage my time too. I also just graduated university, so maybe it could be like a graduation gift for myself.

I feel like I’m leaning towards the first two options, but they are a little expensive and I’m wondering if they’re worth it. I wanted a blue watch to remind me of the ocean. The SBEJ029’s bezel was just a little too dark for what I like, but I love the white background that reminds me of sea foam, it adds contrast too. I live in Japan, so the GMT feature would be nice to have as well.

For the second option, it doesn’t have GMT, but it does have a beautiful blue color. Although it isn’t as artistic and interesting as the first option. It’s also just a little cheaper than the first option.

For the last option, I really Iike how the background literally looks like an ocean, but I don’t know if people will look at it as not professional. I also like how it has the day of the week, and the same magnification thing that Rolex.

I don’t know all too much about watches, but I’m wondering what everyone’s opinions are.
