testing a random stick from the Oliva Mega-Sampler II

Very, very new to cigars.

I was tasked with acquiring some for a bachelor party and after some research here on the sub I landed on the Oliva Mega-Sampler II. I wanted to test the cutter and one of the cigars, so I pulled this Oliva Serie G Toro at random.

It smoked rather well. To my uneducated palette I enjoyed notes of maple, peanut butter, and mild leather.

Enjoyed the cigar alongside an old fashioned made with Suntory Toki, Dad’s Hat bonded rye, demerara simple, angostura, and orange bitters.

Go Sabres!

Edit: upon further review, probably cut ‘er a bit high. Like I said, I’m very, very new to this whole game and learning as I go! Better luck next time 🤷🏻‍♂️. Still enjoyed the smoke.

First 2 cheeseburgers with my own grill.

Been living in an apartment with roommates for five years, though we’ve never had a grill. I was gifted a small Coleman camping grill by my dad last year, and it was about time to finally break it out and break it in at home! Nothing fancy — Bubba patties seasoned with salt and cracked pepper, Kraft singles, tomato, shredduce, mayo, horseradish mustard, charred onion, dill pickle, grilled brioche buns. Grilled and raw red peppers on the side because fuck it they were in the fridge. Garage classic light beer (pretty damn good).
