Why is the only thing I talk about my crush to Geometry Dash...

I (16F) have liked this guy for 2 years and haven't really talked to him that much. However, 2 weeks ago, we both went on this school trip together and he initiated a conversation with me about Geometry Dash because we have a mutual friend who knows that I play. We talked about it a bit on the trip and on the last day we both went to do the laundry together which was a bonding experience I think. Once we've returned from the trip, he started to message me, but the SOLE IDEA around ALL of our conversations is Geometry Dash (mainly because we are on similar levels and relatively new to the game). Anyways I'm supposed to buy him a drink when school starts to thank him for doing the laundry with me (he didn't even need to do it he was just bodyguarding this other guy and me because we were scared we would get jumped). I want to start to talk to him about other things but I don't want to seem desperate. Help or advice would be very much appreciated.
