TL;DR: starting off for Gate, qualifications: VBSPU Btech CSE (affilated from AKTU) with 8.5L JEE rank after drop year😭, need advices

I chose PCM 3 years ago, still in 10th, aspiring for JEE. Quite oblivious from what a competition is, but definitely interested in science (not bio). I would I also admit I was quite a silent student back then. Then in 11th and 12th I made more stupidier friends and got more freedom. I got carried away, distractions were too much, and at last got 3.5L rank.

But for some unknown mystical reason I got overconfident and decided to take a drop. And the worst part is that I didn't even checked the results of the major JEE mains based counsellings let alone apply for them. And the drop year ruined me. Lower middle class family + online preperation at home + 2 years of syllabus + more stupidier friends in library. Moreover there was no one around preparing for the same exam (I live in a pretty remote city in UP). As the JEE exam got nearer, the pressure escalated. Definitely there was a backlog and then I had to revise the old stuff while still covering the classes which too had gotten pretty hard. So about a month before, I had no I idea how to organize and cover the whole what's left. I should have revised whatever I had studied but I decided to cover the part I hadn't yet. This was the worst mistake. (Still the same decision in the april attempt)

At last I got 8.5L JEE rank. Quite bad but I can't afford another drop or a private college so this is what I get. I had seen people from IITs, IISERs, IISC preparing from GATE and they qualify.

Unlike me, they do had quite a discipline and a proof from past. For now I am just a failure.

Where do I stand? Can I crack Gate?

Should I take another chance in JEE mains? For advance I am not egligible anyways.

I am a dropper and not willing to waste another year. Middle class family from south UP se aata hu to waise hi paiso ki bhut dikkat hoti hai. Still fucked up my JEE and got 7L+ rank 😭. Final chance I have is private near delhi ncr but that would fuck my family's finance (totally). Cause income meri come hai to mai total fee waiver ke liye egligible hu. But I don't know if at this rank I will even get FW seats. I am really confused what should I choose. I am getting CS at collegs like NIET, GNIOT, and ECE at Ajay Garg. Can someone advice me should I put FW seats of these in my priority list. Also are there some other better colleges with acceptable branch at this rank? PG wagera ka kharcha to shyd utha hi lunga if somehow tution fee is waived off. Also will I still get scholarship after FW seats?

tl;dr:- 7L+ rank par koi dhang ke private college me FW seat mil jayegi and uske baad scholarship milegi ya nhi?
