So I identify as a sex-favorable ace (my partner is allo) and I am open to being intimate with him, but I’ve noticed something recently. People talk about sex having an emotional component to it, but I don’t know what that means? I don’t know if I just don’t feel it or if I’m misunderstanding what it feels like or what. I am alloromantic so I feel like I should understand it, but I don’t. Sex and emotions are very separate for me.

If anyone has felt it or at least knows what it means and can explain it to me that would be helpful.

At first I thought nothing changed besides feeling more clear and having more clarity about the past, but I realized recently that since discovering I’m ace I don’t care about what other people think of me as much as I used to.

I used to be really concerned with other people finding me attractive (before I learned about different types of attraction) because I felt like my value as a person was linked to how others perceived me. For some reason, I don’t care anymore? Idk, it wasn’t a conscious decision. I just wear what I want to/what I like without thinking about what others might think as much (aside from the normal “is this clean? Do I look okay?”). I’m a woman and I personally like more masculine clothing and lately I just wear my style instead of trying to appear more feminine.
