I'm trying to pursue a career in finance (not sure what specifically in finance). From what I saw most of bmos seems quite "useless" and id rather use that 2 years to develop an actual skill like CS. I also heard many who take the cs +ivey route still land interns in finance positions or finance clubs in western because you can self learn most the skills u need for analyst positions. Additionally math/cs has been my biggest strength and interest throughout hs and I don't want to put that potential to waste.

However, my main concerns are

1. if that will put me at a disadvantage when interning if they see i don't have any business background for first 2 years

2. how valuable will a cs background is for finance and if im just wasting 2 years

3. if bmos is actually useful and im missing out

tldr: can someone tell me the pros and cons for taking cs+ivey compared to bmos?

Got deferred to math bba yesterday and I never really thought of this program since I didnt apply but after doing research it seems pretty solid so I was wondering for yalls thoughts.

How does it compare to ivey, qcomm, and uw afm? Those are my other options.

ever since I got my offers I've had senioritis and started skipping school (cus im 18 and I can sign myself out). but earlier the vp called my parents and said they'll suspend me if I keep skipping. Is that a threat? Will my offers be rescinded?

inner mongolian here who lives in north america. how do you guys feel about inner mongolia as a place, or the people? trying to learn more about my culture since ive been whitewashed my entire life.

I was recently admitted into ivey aeo but here are some things I would have done differently if i could go back to make my life a lot easier:

1. everyone around u is gonna have a 95+ avg jus from private school/elearning/bird courses. i worked my ass off spending hours at the library for normal courses just for the same grades. looking back, since ivey doesnt rly care, save ur time for other shit and do the same thing esp for math or english if ur not confident in it. If you can't beat em join em
2. Do everything u could (do every business/math contest available, join every sports team or club u can, volunteering, etc). jus dont sit on ur ass and goon all day cus no matter what u do (even if its a burger flipping job in mcdonalds) u can write a lot ab it and youll have somewhere to put it on ur application
3. waiting for the results are going to be the 4 most stressful months of ur life and going on this reddit will give u 30 different mental disorders. ive seen people in february getting in with stats (not trying to sound egotistic but) objectively worse than mine and im sure the order in which they release the results have nothing to do with merit. in fact ik some ppl who are way better than me who still havent gotten in yet rn (and im sure they'll get it eventually). but yeah once u submit ur application u cant do anything and looking back i look so stupid wasting so much time and energy stressing over this.
4. dont stress over the interview. i got cut off on basically every question and still got in.
5. dont waste ur time trying to order ur awards/extracurriculars in order from most impactful to least impactful, cus u literally cant 😅
6. dont do the inspect element bs cus im prettyyy sureee that doesnt mean much and itll jus raise ur cortisol levels (my hba score and lastmodifieddate were pretty bad)
7. there's an identity supplemental that's 500 words. if you have something good to write about then its a really good section to show them who u are and it won't hurt ur application. jus dotn leave it to the last minute.
